Didnt look much like a bet to me? Looks like you lose, you give money. You win, Nothing. I like those kind of bets!

Ahh you caught on to that
I, for one, would love to see you make it. But I prolly won't be there either way, given the distance. :doah: So I'll cheer you on from the Midwest. :thumb:

Which means you shall be able to attend the dune party "given the distance" :D

We need to readvise this bet lol. What do I get? I was just rambling on and tripped on my man hood.

Gauges look good but why a 160 mph speedo?

As mentioned, Autometer doesn't make much else.

Bit silly, especially in my truck that will only do 60 with argument, but it's what was available and is still more visible and reliable than the original.

That's ridiculous. There's not too many cars out there that will do 160, and they wouldn't be using a gauge like that. Whose stupid idea was that? The foriegn factory they contracted to make them must think they wanted a 160 kph speedo. Dumb dumb dumb!

My wife has a Grand Cherokee with a 5.9 V8 and it has a 130 or 140 mph speedo in it (can't remember which). It will actually go that fast, but the scale of the gauge makes it really hard to tell your exact speed during normal driving because there's so many numbers on it and they're so close together. Plus, how often will anyone really go that fast? I only did it once just to see if it would actually do it.

AM has been doing 160's forever.. since at least the early 80's... aftermarket speedo's where sold for race cars... not the daily driven masses that they are used more for these days...

my 71 Cuda had the factory 150 speedo...

It seems like an "ego" thing more than a practical thing.....

I don't know of any race car drivers that use a speedometer when racing. The tach is all you need.....I've even seen speedos taped over so that the driver won't be distracted and/or scared by the indicated speed down the front straight!

Altimeter makes a 200MPH version too.... Seems perfect for a Blazer! :)

I had the same thought, which is why I offered to join the bet-I want him to win, but I'm not against signing up for a win-only bet. :D

I've been considering the dune party for a while now. It mostly depends on what happens to be going on at that time. It's not like Holton is right next door for us, either. You should move it to the other side of the lake! :D

I do still have this feeling that my stock truck on 29's is not likely to keep up very well. Should make for a fun trip! :D

Wouldn't it be funny if I was posting old pictures and was really much further ahead?

We need to get this semi back on track.

Naw...no whining intended. I was just taking the opportunity to suggest a Wisconsin dune party. And repeat that I am still interested in coming. No nagging or heckling necessary. :D

I'd say there's a 50% chance of us attending at this point.

Absolutely. We'd love to talk about your truck. We're just biding our time until some new development comes along. :D
