Thanks dude, not a lot was done today just cosmetic stuff that isn't worth posting pictures about. Got some parts in from the brown santa during the fathers day weekend.

How are you running your trans cooler? I just found these to adapt the lines into 6AN.

Not sure probably steel lines from the trans to the radiator then to my cooler and back to the trans. Haven't thought about it to be honest with you. :doah: Where did you find those?

I told you I ran out of cutting discs and harbor freight has them half off right now. Not to mention I got word dinner is almost done.

Has anyone ever experienced a flap disc from HF not having the arbor advertised correctly? it defiantly was bigger then 7/8ths and made all kinds of noise when spun.

What are you doing about the steam port? Found this on Ebay. But I'm wondering why this is such a big deal. Seems factory just had this stuff venting into the throttle body. I don't understand why it seems to be critical to change that. Dunno, but I'm thinking of running hose to the port on my radiator.

It's for the heating up the throttle body in cold climate conditions. I will be using a block off ports in the rear and the factory piece on the front. I want to add this piece into the radiator hose instead of the radiator.

I like the fact you can bleed the system here as well and the little coolant glass hole is spiffy also. Doing this you also can retain the warranty on water pumps.:thumb:
Steam engines? This is 2014, not 1914.

:haha:

I would say most folks run that steam port into one of their radiator /heater hoses. A close second is to drill and tap the water pump like I did. A close third is running it straight to the radiator. And the factory doesn't vent them to the throttle body. There is a in and out tube on the throttle body that coolant passes through to keep the throttle body from icing in cold climates. It's an in one ear and out the other kind of thing.

I had the fitting for the heater hose on the radiator changed out for fitting to fit the steam hose. Looks real clean and factory.

ssyork used an inline steam port deal into his upper radiator hose too on his 5.3 swap. That coupler allowed him to mix/match hoses to get a nice routing too. I think there are pics on his build. My steam port goes into the radiator on mine.

If ever i do an LS swap, I'm going to route the steam port to an espresso machine so I can make lattes.
