The rosette welds on the top are not needed. The sides are OK because you will be adding the bump cans to them.

My thinking with the rosette welds on top would brace the hoops a little more and allow me to plate the blow through. I want it to match so I wanted to carry it over.
Okay. Then get it done.
Am I thinking wrong? Is the blow through not needed to be plated? Also on the back sides of the hoops there is a gap exposed and open to moisture.
If my reasoning is wrong by all means correct it, I don't know how to build this correctly and looking for a solid piece.

Its just so hard sometimes to describe what you would do if you could lay your hands on it.
I would feel better about myself if I didn't leave a open hole for the possibility of it happening though.
Use weld through primer on everything to make yourself feel better then.
