And if you want all the dash wiring associated with the windows, we can pull the heater box (not connected) out from under the dash and pull the wires out at BB some night :waytogo: The box looks like it will slip from under the DIY4x dash easy enough

I hope I got enough room in the Malibu, LeAnne might have to ride on the roof. :whistle: I'm excited about going to Moab, but I also wanted to show this off at the BBQ the most.
 
you can have the stuff, you'll probably get new door panels and door poppers anyway. Still not sure if mine work :(
 
You sure? Would hate to just take them away from you. I seem to think you have something else for me but I can't remember, maybe if I sleep on it I will remember.

Maybe we can exchange the parts for a few beverages say in a .12oz can?

Here is my Moab Blazer Bash Recap.


1. I need to get this thing done for next year.
2. Hydro assist.
3. My frame plating idea isn't as overkill as I thought and will be done.
4. I need a tow rig and another truck to beat on cause this one will get destroyed how I want to wheel it.

Don't fall into the "I need a tow rig before I can enjoy Moab" myth. And for God's sake don't change direction on your build to change it into some kind of "ultimate Moab trailer queen". I guarantee you'll never finish anything....and I'll be at Moab before you ever wheel there in your own rig (2018).

The Moab experience is famous for giving everyone upgrade fever... Pace yourself and stick to your original plan. :deal:

I keep saying to everyone; I love my buggy, I love to go fast, beat on **** and in general use it up on a regular basis.
However; I'm also jelous of the guys that rolled their windows up when it was dusty, turned on the AC on when it was hot, didn't listen to the too loud exhaust all day, had more room for things than 1 cooler and a few bottles stashed around, and don't have to own $50,000 worth of support equipment that needs maintained just to go wheeling.

Your on the top of a slippery slope. Don't go towards the light, run away.

Trucks aren't buggies.

Yes baba if there was ever anyone confused about what it takes to be happy, it's you. I understand you tho. I look at trucks on Craigslist that are in worse shape than my 78 and drool over them. But when I drive mine I think, oh I can't wait till this is fuel injected and painted etc. THEN I'll be happy. But if you take a step back and think about how much you (I) would love your truck as it is if you didn't have a truck, it's easier to gain perspective.

The line between fantasy and reality is a blurry one. I find that focusing in a little harder on reality makes you happier over all. If all you do is fantasize, you will never be happy cause it will never become reality.

I agree. There is nothing special about my '83, except for one thing: IT RUNS. I hop in, turn the key, and enjoy road trips whenever I have time. I have gotten 16,000 miles' worth of cross-country fun out of it in the last 2 years. I have no desire to beef things up at this point, because I enjoy having it on the road. As soon as it stops being road-worthy, it becomes a large paperweight. I may want to have a Moab-worthy truck, but I'm not going to start with my working, driving square-body.

The Suburban is almost in the "it runs" category, but it hasn't quite run out of broken components yet (this week it is the radiator). And each time it breaks, it becomes infinitely less fun to own.

So I would encourage you to focus on getting the truck finished in a reasonable amount of time (if you even know what that is :haha:). Whether or not it has all the features you started dreaming about this week. Because "almost done" doesn't get you to Moab. And any road-worthy truck (even mine, which would be terrible at Blazer Bash :doah:) is much more fun than watching the pieces sit in the garage.

That's my $.02.
 
Yeah Blazer Bash is just one weekend a year right? What are you going to do with your truck for the other 363 days a year? Look at it and wish you could drive it on the road.
 
The other 363 is why i UN-lifted my suburban. So now, when i drive it every day, i like it as much as possible.

The tow rig would be for my other truck that would get wheeled hard. I can't bring it to myself to beat on this truck and destroy it to hard.

Slippery slope, because I enjoyed looking and listening to all the rigs that made it out from extreme to just a small lift and tires.

I just told the girlfriend this, and she said I looked like crap all weekend and are you sure it's not jack speaking? :haha::haha:

I just want the laid back truck that will do the exploring and mild wheeling, which is this one. The extreme one will come years later down the road. I most likely will get another truck that can hook a trailer to, I wouldn't mind having the option to tow this one and other stuff I need. This truck is coming to the point where I can't tow anything.

Drive it to work, enjoy the scenic trails in AZ. :thumb:

What it really amounts to is, I will finish this truck then years down the road do the extreme K5, I just didn't pick the correct words to describe what I wanted.
