We got some work done today, well I don't know about we but Shawn did.:thumb:

Fully welded in the engine cross member and pan hard bar. We also found out I can't read a tape measure and I need all new tubes, pan hard, drag link and tie rod. Oh well on that, we will be making a trip for those soon.

I also got part of the engine cleaned up and I have been soaking the pistons.

Overall I'm extremely happy with the progress and eager for more.:pimp:

The bolt holes were not exactly lining up, that combined with his ability to easily remove the ls oil pan anyways.

His chassis is going to need all the reinforcement it can get with the new lateral loads as well.

I would be boxing the frame front and back of the panhard mount. Don't ask how I know.:doah:

Plating it from body mount to body mount as well as some gussets to reinforce the pan hard mount even more and tie it into the bump can. :thumb:

I've got an idea for some bracing inside but I need to see his header clearance first
 
Yes what Shawn has said, it is weird having him answer all these questions. We also found out the xj shaft is going to be perfect and not have any interference with the coil over.
 
I'm excited for you. I think it's really cool that Shawn is helping you out. Should be some exciting posts coming I'll bet. :waytogo:
 
I can't thank him enough, he is going out of his way. We will see this at the bash, hopefully the list of parts pays off and cooperates with each other and we have a fine wheeler.
 
He's actually done a pretty great job with getting to where it's at and parts selection.

Certainly not working with junk.:thumb:

Thanks, should have a pretty good update this weekend.:thumb: Not going to give any hints but it should be pretty epic.
 
A few things have changed, like a way to get around. My brother in law is letting me borrow his exterra. Having shawns help is a life saver, we are anticipating this to be my daily driver for a bit.
