Let's put it this way. How long do you figure it would take you to finish that truck if you didn't have a job and just spent 10 hours a day on the truck? If it was me working on it, I would figure about 20 days. That's 200 hours roughly. If you only used weekends, again at 10 hrs a day, that would take approximately 10 weekends. But, you won't be over there every weekend, both days, for 10 hrs a day. So you will need every last bit of that 186 days.
That's not meant to say you can't do it. You can do it. You just have to have the mindset of not having a lot of spare time to waste. Keep up the pace your at now and with the help of Shawn, I think you'll get it done just in time.

don't rely on him bangin it out for you... for every hr Shawn put's in for you, you should be doing 8.. plenty of prep stuff to do...
I have put in about 11 hours this weekend and next, Shawn wanted me to get certain things done this weekend and next. He wanted the engine all prepped and ready to go in, I'm waiting on the clear to dry right now. He wanted the frame all prepped for welding, which I just finished and he wanted me to convert the front end over to 8 lug.
For what he wanted me to do I'm ahead of schedule. I'm not relying on him, just having him help on the fab, he has gone out of his way to do even more. I can't thank him enough.

good, stay motivated.. every time the maniac shows up, you should surprise him with how much is done, not disappoint him...
I hope I don't, tomorrow I'll be ordering the rest of the engine stuff. If I don't go to NASCAR next Sunday then I'll be in the garage probably putting the engine together.

I used to pick up a guy on the way to work... never ready, always laying on the horn to get him to come out.. heck, he'd be sleeping still sometimes..
whereas you pick me up? I'm out there 10 minutes early waiting at the curb to jump in the car...
doing me the favor? I'll make it as easy as I can for ya...

I've got to say - that's about the cleanest frame I've ever seen. 
Hopefully your desert environment will keep the bare metal rust free for a while. If I left something outside around here looking like that, it would rust overnight.

It will look the same in the next time I go to work on it in a weeek or so.
It's amazing how much faster things can get done with 2 people especially when they are both motivated and at least one very experienced. The time Wade helped me out, I was surprised how quickly we got the job done and that was even after having an "error" in fabrication. If we'd caught that ahead of time we would have been done REALLY fast.

I used to live on the coast in Virginia so I know where you're coming from. Having come there from CO, it always frustrated me how quickly things would get surface rust. Even after being back in CO for 16yrs, I still expect things to start rusting but they don't. Amazing the difference in climate makes.I've got to say - that's about the cleanest frame I've ever seen.

Very much agreed Scott, blazer bash is coming in a hury and I need a ride to go.
Just spent 515 dollars on the 6.0. Lots of bolts and gaskets also a water pump.

Those water pumps are pricey IIRC. I had one blow up and send the fan through the radiator in my 2001 silverado

They make brand new non delco ones for like $50. I have one on mine. I'll let you know how it lasts!
I opted for the gm one for the cheap price and having the opportunity to see aftermarket and factory parts next to each other and seeing the difference.
Not saying your pump is bad, and mine is far superior. For some things I will be check aftermarket.

Here's hoping my stays good for a long while. Looks to have been replaced already though. I don't think factory uses sealant, do they? I can see it around the mounting surface.
Factory uses gaskets, some like to add red anaerobic sealant to help.
