Nothing to show at the moment other then a box of parts. Hoping to get it together and possibly take a pic of it together.:thumb:

Thursday night and Sundays challange. Reseal the 6.0 on Thursday and 8 lug swap on Sunday and prep for frame plates/ cut and burning possibly.

When people say these things nickle and dime you they are not kidding that's about 800 in parts on the shelf.:doah:

For the most part, I will need to read up on them but I took the axle apart before to change out the ball joints. I just don't remember off the top of my head.

And do you have the new backing plates for the calipers? I believe they are different too since the rotor is larger on the the 8 lug.

I have a complete d44 8 lug sitting under the truck.:thumb: I'm hoping it has something steeper then 3.73's but the chances are very slim.

But you have a 10 bolt fron right now so the gears wont do you any good. But yes, everything outers wise should be good. Im not sure which set of axle shafts you will use tho.

Dang, I thought the gears would swap to.

That would make for a miserable Sunday if you tried to swap the gears across... :doah:

Are you wanting to keep the 10-bolt? Or just swap the whole axle?

What gears do you have for the rear, and what would your preference be (gearing-wise)?

The gears I have now are 3.73. I have been told by multiple people that the truck needs 37 inch tires but I'm leaning to the original plan of 35's gear wise I bet 4.56's

With your motor 4.56 gears should be plenty good with 35's. Heck even 37's for that matter. What trans you running?

Ben, when I did my 8 lug swap the only things I changed were from the backing plates out.... it was a very straightforward swap and there was nothing weird about it.

For sure, I'm not scared about it but the site has a tech article. I will use it as a refresher to speed the process up and utilize all the time I have. Blazer bash is around the corner and I need to do burnouts.

No engine building tonight, summit sent me the wrong head bolts and the head gaskets were never put on order. A bit bummed but how long has the engine sat for already? What's another week.
