Didn't get a lot done today, but what we did get done was big.

First we unloaded the truck "off" the trailer commando style with no ramps and a strap hooked to a jeep to stop it.:haha: after monkeying with the steering shaft falling off a few times the jeep pushed the truck in.

Figured out the drive line shop goofed up on the straps and we were not able to get the rear shaft in without a trip to Shawn's dungeon for straps. Come to find out the yoke doesn't like the bolts...

The front shaft has the wrong u joint and won't accept the yoke.

Pretty much I bolted on a caliper, plumbed the power steering lines which needs a 90 bend in the return line. Shawn will tonight If he can will finish welding the frame plates and work on some gussest for the shock hoops. I have a very nice list of parts to order and will have them this week.

Going to shoot for 1-2 days this week along with a Sunday. The truck should be driving end of the month or early in July. I would love to take it for the first drive the 4th of July only because that's the day I first started working on it.

It is kind of cool hearing people's reaction to the truck, to me it is just a regular old Chevy truck with a twist of Ben to it. :dunno: Shawn said it has received nothing but compliments everywhere it has been.

I'm very fortunate to have his help, it isn't free help but I can't complain. Without him this truck wouldn't be near driving, it would be stuck on jack stands for another few years. That to me is worth everything, I owe him the world. I can't express how thank full I feel. When every where ever I'm there buddy. :thumb:

I got in over my head and capability's with this build. It was supposed to be cruising around on a resealed carbed 350 and a simple 2 inch lift leaf sprung 4wd swap.

I started this build with knowledge how to bolt on parts, had never used a grinder, a drill press or even tried to form metal. Heck I barely even have used a drill before.:haha: Now I have the knowledge to create things with my bare hands, It wont be pretty though. I need to work on my welding, but I could make something.

found some old pics on my laptop thought they were cool

I'm guessing this picture was around the early 2000 when it was my sisters daily driver, that is my little sister in the picture she is 18 now.

I was 18 at the time and this is shortly after I became owner of it, had to do some repairs...

this guy turned the corner at work and came racing in. I ran over to him to check it out, he opens the door and turns out he had 2 12 inch sub woofers in the truck and was "bumping" rap music.

Anybody know where to find 13 inch front brake rotors that are 8 lug? For some reason I can't find them

Might check out the hummer 2 rotors they might be larger.. I am not sure if they would fit.

Hard to see but I added a 105 degree to the panhard mount. I want to add one more tube to the back of each shock hope too for the piece of mind where it elbows.

Hopefully, that is the plan.

Anybody have a part number for the 4 core radiator insulators? Having a hard time finding a good number. Trying to figure something out in town. I might have to call my vendors to cross reference. The best number I can get is 6264100 and it is old.

Still on the hunt for the 13 inch front rotors!!

Any help is much appreciated.

As for the rotors, 13" outside diameter I assume. 8x6.5" I assume.

What hat spacing? What depth on pad surface?

I assume you're looking for bigger front brakes, I haven't seen brakes that big that fit an older front end like you have but that doesn't mean they don't exist :deal:

where is the 4 link from again?

Check SSBC and Willwood to see if they even make calipers and brackets to run a larger disc. Or maybe I missed that conversation all together. Why not just run what you have for now.

What's the deal with the brakes? What's wrong with stock stuff? Will the 13"ers even fit inside those stock 16" wheels?
