Only bad thing about that is it points the drivers side and I already have a nice afe dry filter.

I need to keep looking around but I think I can do this for easily under 150 and have a sweet true cold air intake.
 
That's a mighty tasty looking sandwich there. Next time you get a raise you can get a jar of mayo and eat mayo sandwiches. Yum yum.
 
Last night I found a can of tuna and mixed it with hot sauce and mustard. Ended up with two sandwiches.:haha:

My ultimate goal is to have something get air from the grille. Would this be such a bad thing? I'm not really into mud but it will see some just not a ton.
 
I have the stock air cleaner. No cold air tube and cut fender wells. I have gone through mud and water with zero issues..
 
I had that stock plastic hose going up to the grille. Man I hated that thing. It would always get in my way and it was always falling off from where it was supposed to be. The retainer clip thing never held it in place. Maybe I should have eaten an ice sandwich and thought up a solution but instead I just took it off.

Why aren't you connecting the air intake to big black flatish thing in this photo?:dunno:
 
The hood? The engine is pushed up very high to gain as much bump travel as possible. No way I could squeeze a 4 inch tube up to the cowl.
 
i say we go sexy via a cobra head at the intake, run the tube to the passenger side front of the engine bay and secure it via a tab off the shock hoop.

Ok I got ya, thought it would have been cool to do a 180 turn back to the top and run a custom intake(flat air filter) sucking air from the underside of the cowl.

Go here by correct silicone elbows and length of AL. tube. Install nice looking intake for less than $100.00

FYI my tuned up D-max breaths through a 4" dia. intake with 2 90's. Race car is the same.

You can do this on the cheap.

I'll be ordering up the parts after work today, might have to wait until Friday so I don't have to eat ice sammiches.
