I did the Dynamat and closed cell foam route and it makes a nice difference than before. Keep in mind though that no matter how much sound deadening you put in you'll never get rid of all the wind noise, loud exhaust, and mud tire hum. With the windows up I can talk on my cellphone just fine but it's nothing like a newer truck. Just saying keep your expectations realistic.

For sure, I just want it as quiet as possible.

So they make this stuff, it basically bubble wrap back with metal foil on both sides. I bedlinered the interior of Smokey , and then glued down this bubble wrap stuff with 3M adhesive before putting a new rubber floor mat in .

It was cheap , and very effective for both heat and noise

Edit: I bought that stuff at Lowes , in the HVAC section and it was super cheap

So I got off work today at noon, did some yard work and then replaced the weather strip, found some rust. Not sure what I'm going to do about it but it ate through the pinch weld area for the weatherstrip to sit on... I also put some rtv on the wing windows, as much as I hate to they already had some so why not...
