Only thing i got done today was wiring the trans cooler fan. Im picking up a couch tomorrow so ill get 80 miles of highway to test it out.

40 miles to the distination and 40 back, about 93 degrees trans didnt get higher then 175
Through the Derale switch or did you bypass it?
Bypassed it with a on off toggle. Pretty much kept it on the entire time.
About as good as its going to get.
My .02: after B.B., find a bolt in tunnel from an older 4 wheel drive cab. Cut out the floor in you're cab, then bolt in that tunnel. Have done this twice myself in the past. Works well. Just note, you will then need a 4 wheel drive carpet set or mat because the 2 wheel drive will no longer fit over the tunnel.Sadly i need more than that.... i think my 2wd tunnel is low....
Its ok, next year my plans will make room for it.....
You did a 2wd cab? I looked into this and it's quite a bit of work because the 4wd and 2wd floors are very different. Doable for sure but I would just do a cable shifter if I were in his shoes.
I do have a 4wd floor piece just for this! But with the way the interior is going it wont matter much, next year it will probably get suspension seats and a pre runner console.
Yes, trimmed the 2wd floor back as much as I could, leaving a lip to bolt in the 4wd cap. Drilled holes and done. The first time I did this was I in my 20's. I used a '79 4wd center cap in an '83 2wd cab.
But I also agree on a cable shifter. It will allow the shifter to be mounted forward or back depending on how he likes it. Leaves a lot of options.
Only a few things left on my list, install cb radio and tidey the interior up more.
