I knew a guy who swapped air into a '76 and told me that it was easier than a '72. He did it fairly quickly, but I never knew how much work it took.
Someone on her posted pictures of the firewall differences. Can't remember who.

I don't know what you may run into mounting a condenser, with what you have added already.

I have a feeling the big trans cooler will be in the way.

Id rather not have all the factory crap on the firewall for ac. Mine is a non-ac truck so I'm going to have to go aftermarket for mine. Vintage air is the top of my list but there are a couple of other companies now doing kits for squarebody trucks. Need to see if they have fresh air intake.

Do you have a link or name of the company? Non fresh air is fine with me i don't want to smell other peoples stinky cars or cigarettes.

Wade beat me to it. Old air was the one I looked up today. The kit with compressor and high mount bracket for a ls truck engine was $1550. But I priced that out for mine which was including the dash vents and stuff I wouldn't have being a non AC truck. Your kit with an a/c cab might be less.

My vintage air kit was $1789 shipped to Utah with truck brackets and a trinary switch for E-fans. What they don't tell you is that you still need to buy the belt and a LS car belt tensioner to make the brackets work. so that adds another $50 onto it. I will also have to have my lines crimped after I trim to fit since the LS kits come with custom lines to the compressor. Fit and finish of everything I have touched so far has been awesome though.

Man a/c isn't going to be cheap any option.

and don't forget the cost to service it after the install.

Donor with factory ac could be cheaper, but it will never be as good as modern AC. My truck was converted to AC using factory stuff by the previous owner. They did a real good job cutting up the firewall.:surepal:

Servicing is the easy part, I work at a dealer.
