I like the aluminum 1 piece, it works well for over a decade.

I just don't trust the aluminum multi piece for heavy use over time, they will likely get sloppy.

That's one of the reasons that I just bought the correct size fixed hitch, take a measurement and buy one fixed hitch and your trailer is setup.

If you don't want fixed, then I would get this one, its not $400, nearly half that, and very versatile. (up to 8" drop, 2.5" tube)

If your truck has the pro tailgate, then be careful, you can fold it right into your hitch ball You can shut that feature off just by holding the button or something like that.

I always remove my ball mount when I am not using it, or it will just rust trap moisture in the receiver and bash peoples shins.

I know your truck doesn't care most of the time because its a new HD diesel, but its still safer to have it setup correctly, for when someone pulls out in front of you or something and you need that little better stopping distance or something like that.
It does have the pro tailgate and it won’t fold with it in and I completely agree with you on setting it up right. It just never dawned on me and I didn’t want to go buy a new one at the time. I’ll eventually get a new one before I tow next.

It worked for my 2015 but this one is on 35’s

If I won the lottery I'd do the same thing lol

Well it's been 99 days sense I have even messed with it, haven't even turned the key. I don't remember if I put anything in the gas tank... Guess I will find out when I go to start it again. I think at least I unhooked the battery's. I definitely have the itch sense my buddy got his first project truck a 73 c10.

Started to look at some go fast parts again for the engine, have a couple ideas but not sure it's worth it. I really want to focus on the interior and body work but not having a garage it isn't going to happen. I can't do the work I want to on it and will get frustrated so it will go to a shop sometime for that. I was thinking of just doing a basic make over until then? I'm out of town working 4-5 days a week and working 1-2 in town, not much time for truck stuff but I'm hoping I can get my own place again soon, with the schedule I'm on renting a room has worked out great but I miss my stuff. Not sure if it's even worth looking right now until this job is over, what do you guys think?

You can work on the interior in a day, just do small things.

Problem is it has rust in the floor and I want to fix that, also my doors are trashed for some reason the window doesn't fit in the track and falls out for some reason even with new seals and stuff. So I want to swap them out, see where this is going? :haha:

The ole MAW strikes again!

I have never had a garage, everything I have ever done has been in a driveway and most of them dirt.

Same here, I have been lucky a few times doing it in a garage. I have had this MAW bug for awhile, I'm just waiting for the time to blow it apart to the frame because I want to do it correctly.

I wonder if you just need to adjust the back channel. I've also had the bolts in the door get loose.

Just get racing nets. It doesn't rain or snow there anyway.
Need the glass for parking it, I like to drive this thing on road trips when I can. Also how is the a/c going to work when the paint and interior is done? :pimp:

I don't understand why you shouldn't be able to fix the window channels in the existing doors.
As Scott said, check the rear track.

Honestly I'm not even sure, I wonder if it's because these were originally manual doors.
