I don't remember if you are using a column shifter or not.
If you aren't, then a 4 speed manual tilt column would be my choice, however they can be difficult to find.
A 4 speed automatic tilt column for an '82 is only a a factory part for '82 and '83. In '84 the dimmer switch and wiper switch moved to the turn signal lever. The headlight switch location moved in the dash as well, since the wiper switch was no longer taking up space there.
I tell you this, in case you find a tilt column out of an '84 to '91, it will bolt in, however you would have 2 wiper switches and your choice of dimmer switches.
But this doesn't necessarily fit what you want to have in the truck.
I don't know if it's possible to find the parts to put '82/'83 upper housing on the newer column to delete the wiper/dimmer switches. It could lead to something small keeping it from working.
