Well, everyone else is doing it so I might as well for my truck.

Specs
1982 C10 Custom Deluxe Longbed
1978 or 1979 350
$1500 700r4 transmission with all the goodies.
custom 1ton springs in the front and rear
American Racing 15x8 Outlaw 2's
31 Inch tires

I'm a poor college student so this is going to be rather slow build.
(picture cooming tomorrow.)

I came on this website originaly wanting a K30 hint the name. Then after lurking around here for a bit I switched my mind to a K5. After about a year I graduated highschool and recieved the family truck my Dad built. My main reason to rebuild this truck is i'm mainly looking at it as a learning experience. My plans are to make it more HD to a true 1ton.

Here it is as it sits this afternoon.

Time to step back a little bit, when I recieved the truck, you couldn't open the passenger door and the driver side was all banged up. I looked around here for someone parting out a rig. I found a local arizona member named Stratispho that was selling doors for 100 bucks. I through them on.

Once I got the drivers side door on I relized it was all bent out of shape and the metal was weak. I looked around here for a Bit and picked up a drivers side door from Nateinchandler. I still have yet to piece the door back together.

I bought some guages to replace the idiot lights in the original holes.

Then I found a awesome deal on a dashboard I couldn't pass up.

Thats what the Arizona sun will do to things

Well sure you guys don't have rust, but at least the Northern guys have better dash pads... :D

Hahah, just to make you feel better iv scratched the paint all the way down to the metal, and it just turned into surface rust. :haha:

Cool to see someone else working on a C10.

Here is my '83 which is all original still...

I just have some little annoying things to try and fix, dome light, horn, passenger door pins, align the drivers door a bit better and fix the fuel guage.

before you put the gauges back in you should spray behind the gauges with crome spray paint to brightin it up:D

are you going to stay 2wd or change it to 4x4

keep up the good work:waytogo:

Keeping it a 2wd, and setting the driveline up to 1ton status like the suspension. I may do the chrome trick but they seem pretty bright to me anyway:confused:

Thanks!

Well, I finally got my reflexxions steel cowl hood on. What a difference it makes, makes it look at nasty in the front. Also got my dashboard I picked up from 1tonmudder.

Well after along time of thinking, how I want to make this truck even more special I came up with a plan.

1.Buy a k30 frame with a D60.
2.Buy a 05ish rolled duramax truck.
3.Swap all the interior and drive train in. (engine, tranny and rear end)
4.Purchase ORD's coil over setup.
5.Paint everything inside and out a dark blue and spray the bed with black bed liner.
6. Run some 35's or 38's
7. Build some ladder bars for the rear and get them powder coated a candy apple red along with spraying the ORD coil over setup to.
8. Do the one piece side window setup eliminating the vent window.

I'm thinking about 20 grand will be able to get this truck done. I plan to fill this dream out to what ever it takes. What do you guys think? to much or is it reasonable?
