I'm looking for a unmolested 82 engine harness. If the headlights are in that bunch, then I would like them to be dual but single would work.

Lets see what you guys got.
Thanks

Single works fine , you just join two grounds into one , and send each positve to each headlight :thumb:

Thats exactly what I was going to do when I do the dual swap. I was moving some wires around today and one sparked off. Instead of fixing the one I have, I want to replace it with one thats not all hacked up to crap.

There are three separate harness's in the engine bay. Iggy/start/charge plus a few others is one harness, second harness is wipers and stuff, third harness is lighting and junk.

If you undo the small bolt in the center of the block of wires coming through the firewall on the engine side you'll see how it all comes apart. Really primitive version of "plug and play".

I have an unmolested '81 quad headlight harness here I'm not going to be using...no splices or repairs anywhere, all the loom is there as well as all the push clips to hold it against the fender and core support.

If you're interested let me know...I can snap some pic's too if you want.

everything that is bolted up to the junction block. I have like 9 wires bolted up there.:doah: I'm pretty sure that would be ignition and start?

The dash side of the wiring has the fuse block, and all the wires that go to the various switches from there. The engine bay side of the fuse block is the square junction block with all those wires. Move the wires around a little, and look at the very center of the junction block itself...you'll see a bolt head there.

Undo that bolt...the whole mess now unplugs from the junction block and once unplugged you'll see that whole mess is actually three separate mess's. One of those three is the lighting harness. As you are looking at the junction block it's the section farthest to the right.

I'll snap a couple of pic's and edit this in a minute or two

Here is the junction block with the wiring removed. You can see how it is broken into three sections with a bolt hole in the middle of it. The lighting harness is actually the middle one just to the right side of the bolt hole (my mistake)

Here is part of the stuff that plugs into it. What I'm holding is the main engine harness, has ignition, alt, starter and all that stuff. You can see the captured bolt...

This is the lighting harness plug that nests with the main harness plug and the wiper plug to become one big plug. You can look at the shape of this plug and figure out where it fits in.

This is the harness I have. Again I made an error. I swapped this harness in from a donor about 5 years ago. The donor was an '83. The only difference for you is the turn signal location. This harness works for turn signals in the grille...you'd have to extend the wires for that part to get the bulb holders and wiring down to the bumper on your '82.

Anyways...hope that helps.

Yes that does help a lot! I didn't see your pm earlier, I'll send it off in a few minutes.
