1982 K5 Blazer - FINALLY!

Don't do a D60 rear for every possible reason.

If you don't want to trim the fenders, you're looking WAY too big on tires.
Yup, I am running 37" coopers and I had to trim with a 6" lift. May be more realistic for you to look at 35" if you are opposed to trimming the fenders.

Thanks CrpMag122. Did you put fender flares on? If so, what kind?

@ZooMad75: Any reason not to have a 14 Bolt front and rear?
All of you guys have been a GREAT help and I really appreciate it!!

No reason not to have a 14bolt out back. It's the strongest you can put in there short of a rockwell 2 ton unit. As for the front, they never made a 14 bolt front axle. 1 tons had D60's, 3/4 ton's had 8 lug D44's up to the late 70's then switched over to the 8 lug 10 bolt. Both are adequate with reasonable tire sizes depending on your intended use.

I've wheeled over a lot with a D44 on mine. I'm not into full blown rock crawling and I'm careful not to overly stress it to cause breakage. 35's is about as big as I want to go with my lift and my intended use. Comes down to what you want to do.

With 38's or bigger I'd stick with a D60 up front. I can make My D44 live with the smaller tire, less gearing and calm(er) right foot. 38's or bigger is going to be rough on a 10 bolt front even with light wheeling.

Depends on front traction device too.
Tru trac or selectable will help

Detroit or spool in a 10b makes parts into pieces
