1982 Rear window stuck DOWN

I think the cable came loose, but the window is all the way down.
How do i get it back up to work on the cable?
I can grab it from the bottom but it won't budge.

Is it a power window. Mine does that sometimes. When it happens I push in on the top corner of the tailgate. There is a connector on each side that needs to be engaged.

You can also unbolt the window slides on the bottom of the window. Slide it out by hand. Easy to get at everything. If you can, support the top of the window once it is in the up position. Laying horizontal might break it. Ask how I know.

ran mine with a drill for a while. it was an electrical window.

Mine did the same thing for a while. It was the contact in the upper corner that was bad. I just bypassed it and it works well now.

The contact/switch was just a safety feature by GM so that people couldn't roll up the window with the tailgate down and bust it or accidentally put the tailgate up and bust the window.
