83ChevyK5Blazer submitted a new Build:

1983 K5 trail truck/dd

I bought my 83 in the winter of 2007 for 1200 bucks. It was bone stock and was my awesome daily driver. In 2008 the pos 305 decided to blow the freeze plugs and overheat. So I put together a nice stock 350 to replace it.
In the summer of 08 I enlisted in the coast guard and left my truck with my uncle who used to be a good body guy, that was before the stroke I guess. Any ways I get back to a blue blazer after 2 yrs.

After getting it back and moving to my duty station in oregon I set to work getting it how I want it. I started with a 4 inch rough country lift and some used craigslist 33's

So I left it half ton for a hunting season, and wheeled it some before I felt like going bigger. I found some 3/4 tons and bought a set of 37's.....

i grew up in coos bay, lived out in millington. wouldn't mind moving back there if they had jobs worth a damn.

Wheeled like that for a while... Then the inside of my door rusted out, resulting in the window shattering way up in the woods. So I went inland and got some clean doors.

And that is nearly how she sits today, the transmission decided to lock into first at inopertune times so I just got done swapping in a Th400/208 I got from natemc :thumb:
I also went thru and regasketed my motor and swapped my cracked flex plate. I also swapped in a 89-91 grille.

i still have a house in millington, so if i ever have a reason to move back there i have options.

nice looking blazer.

Nice Build :waytogo:

Looks like you started with the twin to my old K5, think mine had some more cancer in it though :haha:

Mine has plenty of cancer, especially now that she is on the coast. Its nice to see another k5 with that paint job, I think the brown and white looks good all cleaned up.

So this weekend I started on cutting out the rusted rockers and replacing them with some 2x4 box. I also started on some new paint.

I had the same thing occur with my 700 recently and I also swapped to a TH400/NP208. How are you liking yours so far? I haven't driven mine enough yet to see if the gas mileage went down any.

It's going to take a lot of orange to cover that camo. :eek1:

After I got the downshift switch adjusted right it drove pretty good. The instructions with the b&m switch sucked. Yeah I still have alot of painting to do still.

Are you talking about the one on the gas pedal? I haven't been able to get mine to work yet at all. I'm going to mess with it this weekend. Right now if I come up to a hill and need to downshift, I have to reach up and move the shifter on the column. LAME.
