1 ton status
Located on Long Island, 40 miles east of New York City.
1986 GMC K25
3/4 ton 4x4
-350
-Heavy duty package
-4.10 gearing
-Factory headers
-Factory dual straight pipes (no cats)
-Bigger rear springs
I bought it with a fuel leak and I assume water in the fuel. The truck had been sitting for years.
I put a used fuel tank in and got the truck running again, but it stalls under load if you don't feather it just right, so I figure there must be water or debris still in the carb, or the fuel filter is now clogged up.
Truck runs great at idle when warmed up. The few times I drove it, it had more power than any other 350 I've driven, I guess because of the gears and factory exhaust.
Transmission shifts smooth, no clunking from the rears, 4 wheel drive works fine, no overheating.
Small oil leak I noticed by drops in the driveway where it was parked, but I haven't looked for the source yet.
A set of plugs, wires, cap and rotor, fuel filter, and some dry-gas would probably make this truck much more reliable.
Negotiable, I need the cash and it gone!
