1986 K5 Blazer

Recently did some trading with a Local classic car shop, Restore a Muscle car in Lincoln NE. He took my 71 K10 in on trade for the this 1986 Jimmy. The truck came out of Montana, very dry rust free rig. The guys at RAMC tore it down and gave it a fresh coat of the factory paint scheme. They do a lot of blazers and this was just e of many sitting in inventory waiting to be finished. Excited to finish all the details on this and have a nice cruiser for the summer!

It has also been great that RAMC stocks many parts. I had them throw these new 33x12.5x15s on before hauling it home. Also grabbed a set of zero rates.
Some of you purists may not approve it f the next step I’m taking. All the badges and GMC trim needed replaced to match the quality of the rest of the exterior. I decided to make it a Blazer I will on to all the GMC stuff just in case

Made it home. Time to start some assembly. Made an order to LMC and classic industries for door handle parts, mirrors, lights emblems, grille, and quite a few other little things.

Changed out the huge rally trim rings to these 1.5” rings. Also replaced the center cap decal

Made its first trip to Lincoln yesterday for DMV inspection. I did add a zero rate to the front 2 spring packs to help clear the 33/12.5s. It’s sitting pretty level but I’m thinking it needs a little more. Maybe an HD front shackle that should give another .5” and the toss a zero rate in rear.

Tops off, either putting slider windows in this one or painting one that has sliders before it goes back on. Another option may be a soft topper depending on how soon I can get one
Font end got a few fresh parts. Moog drag link, bilstein shocks and steering stabilizer

I traded the patina blue 1971 K10 with the 5.3

Cleaned up the rear axle. Added a zero rate to level it with the front. Also installed the bilstein 5100s to match the front.
There’s also another change made in the exterior picture Anyone notice??
