1/2 ton status
I have a 1986 K5 that was a state vehicle. I bought it at the state auction 4 years ago. It is completely rust free and the body is VERY straight. The small ding you see in the front of the passenger fender is the only dent on the truck. It does need a paint job though. The drivers front fender and door were replaced due to errant deer!
The replacement parts are oroginal GM and rust free as well. The engine is the stock 305, and it is a little tired but it doen't use any oil. It does run good though, and the 700r4 shifts out as it should. It has a NEW rear axle from Uncle Sam. It is one of the surplus axles that have recently been sold at auction. The interior is original base model vinyl and in pretty decent condition with 1 small tear in the drivers seat. The A/C blows cold but the compressor is cycling so it could use a shot of freon. The tires are 31/10.5's and have very good tread. Needs a good clean up as I only ever used it as a hunting vehicle.
This is a great base for a build up, or a good candidate for restoration. Sold to the first reasonable offer. Contact me at [email protected] as I don't check back here too often.
Thanks,
Mike
