1986 M1008 Rebuild

Machined a upper mounting plate for the radiator using some rubber stand offs. Also did a little more cutting on the old cage but my camera phone has about had it.

Good luck finding the 47" LTB think they have been on backorder for over a year now.

A little more progress. Mitch mounted the cutter brake lever and the plate. I also did some more tube work and we both finished off the radiator. The high lift ain't gonna stay there, I don't think I'm even gonna mount it at all.

I don't think it qualifies as an M1008 anymore, but it's pretty awesome!

I'm pretty sure this is a lot of the reason why the case broke. Threads where hardly in the case and stripped.

Yeah I spent the evening visiting with the Issam (Iceman) and eating pizza while poor Mitch pulled the whole drivetrain Thanks, Mitch. The overhead crane sure made that easy though.

Yeah, I was looking at it after Mitch took it out and I am surprised that you of all people would put such short bolts in.
These suckers didn't stand a chance.

Always good to sit and BS with you David, and hopefully in the summer we can do some actual wheeling together. Or maybe Moab in Sep

Well Mitch came over today to work on the buggy and flex it out. Got a pretty good look at it and need to make some changes but no big deal really. Also got a real good idea on mounting bump stops to. We probably have a couple more Saturdays to go on the rear then on to the front. I think the coil overs are gonna be sweet.

A couple more Saturdays turned out to be four months of weekends

He sold it. Is trying to sell the Blazer he built also but has not had any luck. He is moving also.
