I'm not overly familiar with OEM equipment, but this truck I'm hoping to buy is raising a few questions. The truck in question is an 86 K10. The owner says it is a Silverado, the badges say it is a Silverado, even the dash. It has power windows and locks and tilt steering. What's throwing me off is the fact that it does NOT have a factory appearance A/C compressor and controls. It looks aftermarket, but I don't know how old the system it is. I haven't asked for the RPO codes from the owner yet, so I don't know what it's supposed to be equipped with. Any of you guys able to lend a hand?

That is an original Silverado but it has aftermarket air conditioning.

I'd have to agree. The compressor and tensioner are not factory. It has quite a few little touches actually. From the pics, I see:

-Intake
-Carb
-Carb Spacer plate
-Headers
-Wire looms
-Wire heat shields
-Air cleaner
-Mickey Thompson Valve covers

These are all decent upgrades. He could have just taken care of it, or it might have a new motor. Either way, if the price is right, it looks like a clean truck. All except for the FRAM oil filter.

They offered the Silverado package without A/C? All the Silverado's that I've ever seen came from the factory with A/C. Guess I need to pay more attention.

The VIN says it should have a 305, but he claims it has a 350 in it now. $4300 a fair price for an '86 K10 Stepside? Interior looks immaculate to me. Body is decent as well.

Not sure if he added A/C or just put a different system in it. Hard to say if it's worth it from a couple pics, but it sure looks clean. The interior looks really good. There's not even cracks in the dash (might just be a plastic cap, can't tell). Either way, $4300 isn't a bad price in my area.

Silverado package included:
brushed aluminum dash/door panel inserts
headliner and trim
upgraded steering wheel

Options NOT included in silverado package:
AC
Power windows and locks
Tilt column/cruise control

for 86 ye9 is the code for silverado equipment code which got the dual headlights and the other int stuff. c60 is the option code for a/c. like my 86 silverado had a bunch of option then the guy and the super saver package which got rid of some stuff that was added with the other options packages added. le9 is for the 305, cruise control is k34 zy5 is the two tone code. just some of the codes i could remember

Yeah I read through the RPO codes from that GMHeritage website. My truck came equipped with the V10 Cold Climate Package. With that installed, the only option for A/C was aftermarket. Thanks for the help, guys!
