2 days ago my 87 k10 with a 350 tbi died on the side of the road after leaving school. when I was driving it started cutting out and eventually died. so I replaced the fuel filter which was pretty dirty and a couple fuel lines. after that it started up until it got warm then started cutting out and died again just like before I changed the fuel filter. the fuel pump sinds like it turns on. the truck basically runs until it gets warm. and it wont start at all right now. any input would be appreciated as I have to go back to work and school on Monday. I also unplugged the coolant temp sensor and it didn't change a thing.

after sits for a while like a day it starts but eventually dies. so is it possible that it looses spark after warming up. the check engine light is functional and its not on while the truck is running

When it's not running (like right now apparently), you need to check for spark. Without spark signal, injectors won't fire.

Once you determine no spark, then diagnosis can begin on what the issue is.

If one is spraying correctly, that side of the engine will run. This is how I know.

Sounds like a fuel delivery issue. May not have nothing to do with it being warm. If the tank is dirty or rusty, or the lines are failing, the filter will plug after running a little while. When it sits over night, it releases, so it will run a short time again. I know his from experience also.

I would pull the line on the outlet side of the filter. Have someone turn the key on and see what sprays into a clean container. Then do the other side.

yea the tank isn't very rusty and I would hope it wouldn't be dirty because I ran it out of gas quite a few times with the old filter and now I have a new one so I was assuming it would be clean, also the lines going in and out of the filter are new. but ill still check that

be sure to plug the cts plug back on

I read it as one kinda works, other drips. Low pressure or volume can cause it. Not saying that's what's it for sure. Just suggesting the no cost checks.

Also can check voltage at the injectors. 6.?? At the connectors.

Volt meter. Disconnect the connector. One probe in each hole. Have someone crank it over. If the number is negative, no big deal. Probes are backwards.

so I have got the problem narrowed down to injector or fuelpump. I have been told by 3 people I know including my auto teacher that its my fuel pump but I have yet to hear a explanation why only one injector would drip and not both. Any input. I have new AC delco injectors on the way hopefully here by Friday

Running out of gas a few times could destroy a fuel pump in a hurry. :doah:

ok so I replaced the injectors and when I was pulling it apart I noticed the fuel pressure regulator is very gunky and actually had a dead spider in it. I cleaned it the best I could and put it back together. now with new injectors and gasket I turn the key on and gas poooooorrs out of the driver side injector. so much comes out that it just files the throttle bore to the top almost immediately. fuel pressure regulator?
