1987 V20 Suburban 350TBI/SM465

I’ll have to go pick some up but I bet a diamond or tungsten carbide bit in my Dremel will slowly grind that extractor out
 
Old trick i have seen is to heat with torch amd drip wax down into the threads. The heat breaks the corrosion and the wax lubricates.
 
May be easier removing it from the bottom. Remove (undo) it back from the way it was going when it snapped.

The crud on the threads jammed it when it was coming out, removing it from the bottom turns it the opposite direction.

I tried that after it snapped. Split the bolt on the bottom side. Bastard doesn’t want to come out. My tungsten carbide Dremel bits came in today. It’s coming out one way or another, even if I have to reattach a new nut on the bottom.
 
Nothing but stone abrasives will harm a hardened extractor, or a torch.
Drill from opposite side and drive extractor out.

Or just grind nut off floor and weld a new one on
 
Carbide bits were successful in grinding down the extractor. Sadly I was a little off center and cut in to the nut so I’ll have to rip that off and attach a new one anyway. If only I had a welder. And was good at welding. I’m sure I can find someone to help around here though.

Who knew! It said it worked on hardened steel so figured I’d try. Didn’t take too long but obviously hard to control. It bounced a fair bit on the extractor.

I see several retro belt mounting kits with just a bolt and washer. That’s basically what that nut was doing right? Washer with built in nut? Could I just clean that hole up and use one of those kits?

EDIT: Now that I think about it, my RetroBelt kit came with all this stuff

Yes it is very similar to the factory.
I confess I have a stripped out seat bracket nut. I cut it off and added a big flat washer and nutted the bolt

Is there a good way to remove the nut with out damaging the floor?
 
What is this thing attached to my rear diff with the two lines running out?

That system from the get go never functioned as it was intended. Most trucks ended up going through 3 or 4 sets of front brakes and rears would be like new.
I did end up adusting the ride hight bar, so it would appear to heavily loaded at normal ride hight, on customer trucks when I worked for the dealer.
Later after many years water in the system would cuase them to lock up, and or restrict flow.
 
Got my new tires on but the tech at Discount Tire couldn't get one of the lug nuts back on because the stud was cross threaded. I'm looking at replacements at Summit but see two options and I'm not sure the right one. Going to just replace all of them while I'm at it.
