Hey guys,

I've noticed when looking at lift kits that they offer a different package for the 88-91 trucks, does this mean that a lift from an older truck won't work with the newer ones? What exactly is different?

Everything is essentially the same except for the front spring, rear shackle bushing & hardware - 88-91 use different bushings and bigger bolts.

Be careful, these are tricky years to buy for since there were 2 body styles. For square body trucks be sure to buy for "V" series, not "K" series.

Yep, on the rear spring bushings. I just finished doing the ORD 4" shackle flip on my '90 K5, and my rear springs were the "metric" variety that ended up being 1.7".

If I remember correctly, was tough to measure while on the vehicle for two reasons:
1. All the hardware and esp the steel shoulders on the OEM bushings were in the way.
2. Spring eye does compress some after old bushing removal.

Once the old bushings were out, and put the calipers in, sure enough, 1.7". Was thankful that in my case, ORD is in the same state, and had the replacements in 3 days via regular USPS. I was so fixated on having them by the weekend, that I was ready to hop on my old GSXR the next morning and rip up there.
