I got some pretty cool parts in today and at least set the engine. Giving it break for a few days. I'm beat!

Somewhere back there I saw what looked like, err, what I call "squeeze cheese", expanding spray foam insulation, maybe? I take you use that for a foam core, then layer 'glas over that? Seems like the foam would make for a crappy surface to try and sand or even put filler directly onto.

the canned stuff isn't particularly great, but a true 2 part foam is killer for shaping. sanding, filing... receptive to resins and glass... it's what I used on the bottom of my cowl induction hood gig... and is used heavily in the marine biz in that capacity too...

It works fine for sanding and shaping on a small scale. I blasted through it in a minute or two for what I needed. If I were to a whole body part or a boat I'd use the two part mix all the way.

yup, small area in a pinch no big.. cool project, always a soft spot for tilt noses...

The engine is back in and I had to heavily modify the exhaust manifold or lose the wastegate. I wanted to keep it in case I have any surge issues.

I only have 4 inches of space between the inlet of my turbo and the oil filter. Instead of coughing up 200 bucks for an remote oil kit. I am building this out of fiberglass. I made it as wide as I can to keep it free flowing. I started with a 4 in drainage pipe and it like this.

Used my wife's hot glue gun. Started shaping this floral foam. She went and got it for me a local hobby shop.

This stuff will mold into anything you want with a dremel and a high speed disc sander.

Started laying fiberglass over the foam.
