I run ACDelco ignition parts on my GM vehicles, I usually just buy them all off Rock auto. If you want longer plug wires order them for the same year big block.

To help the budget, you can test vs replace, but that sounds like a good start. Check vacuum first, read the plugs, compression test for reference. It's 88, so TBI? Check for codes (02 sensor bad?), check fuel pressure. Pumps are a royal PIA, so for reliability, replace with AC Delco at your convenience rather than on the side of the road, or worse, middle of nowhere. Can save current (if still good) for emergency spare. High mileage could also be cam (or related) wear (assuming compression doesn't show sealing issues). That's what comes to mind at the moment. I haven't tried many other spark plugs besides Acdelco ones. I won't use Autolite after seeing a couple refuse to fire right out of the box. I try to avoid chain store brand ignition parts unless they are from NAPA. I haven't had bad Echlin parts that I can remember.
I would replace the fuel filter if you don't know when it was done last. Also check the spray pattern of the injectors to make sure that it is uniform.

I found 80" sliders at xofab for pretty cheap and ordered those this morning. I also called diy4x and ordered their rockslider mounts and hope to be able to adapt them to the suburban. In all its less than 450 for all of it delivered.
sometimes they get rust holes around the windshield and you can really only see them after the windshield is removed
Hopefully thats not the case here. Theres not a single spot of rust on the truck anywhere. The windshield is cracked so it will be getting changed out soon

If the plugs are laid out by position, I'd say #8 is the one with the issue. But they all look like there's a bit of oil depositing on them. I'd watch what it does on start up. If it's not blowing blue smoke while under load, I'd suspect it might be a little at idle. Probably valve stem seals. Time to upgrade to the later umbrella style vs the stock o-ring style.
What's transmission is in this truck. 8 could be oil fouled from trans modulator.

Inspect the tbi base gasket, retorque the tbi.
At 165k miles, the timing chain is suspect.

Trans ia a turbo 400. I put new plugs cap and rotor in and will do wires this weekend. Its been raining. Ill retorque the tbi while im in there.
I need to finish this part up because i got some stuff this week that needs to go on. Not a great pic but my ord bumper showed up along with an ez inch for the front and 2" blocks in the rear. Im going to stick with 33s this year because the lead time for the custom springs was too long for my plans
Check the trans modulator, I bet it is leaking oil and needs to be replaced. If the rubber vac line at trans is all swollen and squishy it's leaking. The normal vac port is in #8 intake runner.

I had that same leak. For me it was the windshield gasket. When it gets old they retract and let water through. Also, if haven’t found one yet I’d get that battery tray. They are getting tough to find. I restored one in a day that was worse than that.

Got side tracked today. Got a call from the powdercoater saying the bumper was ready. The bumper is built like a tank and the powdercoat came out perfect. If you need caoating in the bay area check out california powdercoating in redwood city
