1989 Build In Progress

It was from LMC, it fit like crap. I had to do some massive cutting and trimming to get it to fit. It looks good, but was a lot more difficult to install than the video LMC posted on install directions.

Finished up the day putting Headman Headers in, fit was perfect with tons of room. Also put the mini starter in which also went fine. Working on fabricating the brackets for the radiator next..

Finished up the exhaust and power steering lines the last few days. Just put the new tank/pump in and fuel lines yesterday. My lines are 4” away from the exhaust, not sure if I like that? Most say it’s fine, I may add some heat shield.

Been a while since the pandemic hit, but I did some work recently on the rifle/gun locker. Made it removable and used the Milwaukee stackable trays on top for additional storage. Used the Honaday Locker with box I made from plywood with a couple pull out drawers. I can rest a little bit easier keeping valuables in the rig with a soft top now.

Finally finished up the new gauges also. They turned out great, I also mounted the small digital panel that comes with the Sniper down low, but still useable. The Dakota gauges are very nice, at first I wasn’t convinced they were worth the money. After getting all the functions hooked up including the gear selector I would say they are worth the cost. The functionality takes the Blazer in the 21 century.
