LIVEAnimals submitted a new Build:

1989 GMC V2500 - Another LIVEanimals slow build [I'm Back]

As one said in my last build thread "They always come back". Some of you might remember me or maybe my last Suburban from a few years back. I sold the old girl because I thought I needed a big a$$ diesel. I was wrong and I've finally come to my senses and returned to the square body world.

To be completely honest I still like my Dodge CTD, the power is great and its reliable but its expensive to maintain and Im over it. Plus I've regretted selling my old Burb since the day sold it.

Anyways on to the pics

So this build is going to be slow as was my last one. The purpose of this rig is mainly a daily but will also be setup to be a capable/reliable hunting camping rig.

Most of the things that need to be done to it at the moment are purely cosmetic. The tires are shot and the front brake lines are way short so that'll be the first priority.

I'm a few years out of the game so I'm going to need help with rim sizing. I will be running some sort of 35x12.5 tire, I don't know what brand yet.

Welcome back.

17's have a better tire selection of you can find a rim you like.

Glad to be back man. So what I need to know is back spacing and width dimensions.

Are you still in Lincoln?

As far as rims go it seems like all the old companies all they make is brodozer wheels. I can't really find any classic style wheels.

I run 9" wide with 4" of backspace.

Yep, still in Lincoln.

Somehow your CTD is the cover photo...

You should change that.

Oh and

Well we were off to a slow start and now an even quicker finish. This burb was stolen from my house friday night at 330am. I still haven't heard anything from CHP about its whereabouts.

Damn! That is the worst feeling. I had my heep stolen when I was 19, and when I reported it to the cops they found it parked a few blocks away. Idiots tried to take my cassette player but gave up at some point. This was way after cassette players were still cool too lol. Worst part was I had to get it re-wired after they hot wired it.

My words exactly

I hope so too but still no word so Im assuming there won't be much left of it

haha right
Hey sorry to hear about your theft.
As you now know it came back almost complete with a little damage.
I had my suburban stolen last year by a tweaker and it was recovered within a week.
It was not missing anything since it didn't have a radio and it had a few extra parts, the stupid gut thought he was keeping it so he was fixing it up.
My chevy van was stolen 2 years ago and it was recovered within 3 weeks.
That was my camping van so it came back clean, no camping gear or tools, lock wasn't damaged but the power window was forced down to open it so it's messed up.
I used to keep a spare key in my cars so once they got in the would not have to damage the ignition.

These guys were making it there own as well. I had just cleanly installed a new stereo and they ripped it out and very crappily installed there own stereo by just twisting the wires together. Also they decided to tag up the center console with a sharpie
