Looking at a 1989 2500 4x4 burb with a manual trans. It is behind a locked gate so I can only see it from 20ft or a couple of pictures. I may need to put in an offer without getting any closer. I believe it to be all stock. 3/4 ton, so semi float 14b. It has a V8, should be a TBI350 in that year. Manual, so must be a SM465. What transfer case is in it? NP208 or a NP241?

All the 89s I have checked out had 241s. Also I believe it would be 32 spline input being a 3/4 ton and 4spd. This is a really easy swap for a nv4500.
I happen to have a '93 NV4500 in the stash, good to know. Would this be an electronic VSS 241? I have a spare one of those too out of a '90 K5 but from an auto. I can't remember but think electronic VSS was '90 and '91?

Should be non-VSS. Definitely worth a bean or two because of that
Yeah, there is a variety of good stuff which caught my interest. The hydro manual, TBI, 241, 3/4 ton and its a barn door. Also a rubber floor model with manual windows but AC. Bench seat front too. Burbs have always been my least desired but I might add this one to the fleet. Its ugly outside and hasn't run in a while which should keep the price low.

In my book this is all good stuff also. I am guessing it is a Scottsdale model. Pretty much how my CC avatar is setup but it has a factory round pattern 205.

My V3500 crew has the round 205 also. I put the rubber floor in, carpet is stupid. I like the late model squares with the TBI, they are the ones I have been trying to stash lately. They are going to be rare and impossible to find before we know it.

If you are sure it's an 89, it's a np241.

Got it. This suburban was a university vehicle used for bear research. They auctioned it off tonight and I am high bidder. Turns out that I know the professor who used it and he loved it. When I told him I was looking to buy it he said that he always wanted to keep it and had thought about trying to buy it from UW. It went all over the rockies and he ran the research station in the tetons. I will update next week when I try and recover the thing, hasn't run in 10 years.

Good score. I love the front end, it’s like my v3500.

That single headlight nose would make it a Scottsdale package like Capt Ron was thinking, right?

The one I sent you a link to is a Scottsdale and it has the quad lights. I'm not sure how the headlight package was decided. I think @ZooMad75 Blazer is a Scottsdale and it has quads also.

That's the confusing thing. Mine has the Silverado 4 headlight grille but was base equipment for everything else. It even had the little Silverado badges on the front lower corner of the fiberglass top too. Mine was a government order though so they did get to order off the menu so to speak.

I'd have to go back to my build thread and look at my options from when I decoded the vin. It's all listed there.
