MTBLAZER89 submitted a new Build:

1990 Blazer Daily Driver build **Carpet padding?**

I realized yesterday reading through threads that I never did create one for my new 1990 V1500 Blazer I bought a few months ago.

I touched on it a bit in my 82 crew thread https://ck5.com/forums/threads/82-k30-3-3-build-direction-unknown.322206/ but didn't expand much.

Focus on this build will be maintaining a "stockish" rig with a focus on upgrading the ride, drive, and comfort of the rig.

There's an echo in here. lol.

Do you have any specific plans yet?

Yeah the site seems really glitchy for me right now.

I have a couple sets of stock wheels. GM white spokes and some Rallys. I think I want to do the white spokes on the Blazer and the Rallys on my SWB.

I just installed a Bluetooth head unit and am looking at upgrading the speakers.

Suspension is my next goal. Pretty certain it has the original shocks on it so it needs an upgrade! The 33x12.5 Geolander MTs are brand new so I am content at that tire size. Suspension will be 2.5-3" lift with some quality shocks.

Here are a few pictures of the Blazer and the new head unit installed.

Blazer specs are TBI 350/700R4/NP241 and 10 bolts with 3.42s. 33x12.5 Geolander MTs on craptastic wheels.

Yeah, wheels are poo, but DANG, that thing is clean! Congrats!

I have two sets to choose from. My local source with a bead blast booth is no longer available to me so slowly trying to clean these wheels up so I can get them on. I think the Rallys are in good enough shape to just get a fresh re-coat of Argent silver. Then I just need some new decals for the center caps. The white spokes need to be stripped and painted and some new decals on the caps as well.

Can I have your ugly wheels????

:haha:sorry most of my formitive customizing years were in the 80s

I LOVE those wheels.

Very cool. I have an '89 that I'm slowly trying to do the same thing with (stockish DD w/upgrades) but mine is nowhere as clean as your truck. Nice score on that one for sure :waytogo:

Got 13 and some change in town on the first tank of gas. No idea what shape the components on the engine are in.

Got the White spokes stripped and just about finished up. I think I am going to tape off the holes and do the back side black for a cleaner look.

Also got the Rallys sanded and in primer tonight.

They white spokes are nice. Please dispose of those gay-hties aluminum directionals before some kid wants to bolt them on his truck.
