1990 Blazer Daily Driver build..700 might be dying

Anybody have any experience with the aftermarket center caps? My rear cap emblems are in pretty bad shape. I can get 4 new rear caps for $60, but not sure how the chromed plastic will compare to the original front caps as far as appearance.

Here are the caps.

Or I can just get 4 emblems for $40.

You only need 2 emblems.

Changed my mind and just went with gloss white on the back side of the styled wheels. The Rallys got semi gloss black on the back side.

After looking closer at my center caps tonight I may just have to buy some new caps. These are pretty rough. I am not sure if the repops are worth a crap though. I will prolly see if I can pick the 4 best ones and clean them up and just buy new decals. They can go on the Blazer since it's going to get driven a lot. I'll put the shiny new ones on the Rallys for the SWB.

I love your lineup of square bodies. Crew Cab SRW, K5 Crawler on big meats, a clean SB, and a clean K5 dd. I am just two vehicles behind you. I have the crawler and now the crew cab. But I have a soft spot for those SB's. I have always loved them and will have one...someday. And I have always thought that a clean K5 would be a sweet DD. Can still carry the kids, has 4wd for winter, and is really cool. I would want to do a 5.3 swap into it though. I am sure if you changed the gears to 3.73's or even 4.10's you would see a boost in mpg's...especially with 33's on it

I'm on the same page with the super clean K5 DD. Wife and I have agreed to get one next year hopefully.

Put some pics up of the wheels from the front. I want to see what they look like with the back side showing through.

Thanks! Yeah it just sorta happened. I have always wanted a few of these trucks and being debt free and single really helped out with that :waytogo: The plan is to swap in a 6 lug 14BSF with 4.11s, and ultimately I would like to do a 5.3 swap. Plans with the Blazer are drive and ride mods along with interior upgrades. Just a fun vehicle to drive is my goal, but also keep it clean. No holes will get cut in doors or anything like that. I want to keep that stock appearance on the outside for the most part.

It's been great driving it to and from work every day the past couple weeks. The white spokes are done and inside the house now curing. I am hoping to mount tires on them tomorrow. Rallys still need a couple more coats of Argent. I think I am just going to order up 2 new sets of center caps and be done with that. I'll keep the originals and see what I can do as far as cleaning them up.

I think I have changed my mind on what truck gets what wheels as well. I know @82355 will be happy with my choice. White spokes will go on the SWB and the Blazer will get the Rally wheels. I looked through lots of pictures last night with the GF and after seeing lots of different color combos I agree the white spokes will really compliment the pickup and the silver/chrome Rally wheels will be better on the Blazer. She was happy she got to help decide something on the trucks :waytogo:

Haha, I just randomly stumbled on this thread, not sure how I haven't seen it before now, but I am glad to hear that. The white of the white spokes will compliment the white of the two tone V10, and the argent silver will go well with the Blazer's color.

When I get the crew cab up and going we might daily it and the Jimmy for a couple years and save up for a different car.

I'm trying to talk Kristle into a lowered square body burb with a 6.2 or a 6.5.

I think I could squeeze 20 mpg out of it. Unfortunately it needs to be able to do highways speeds. That's 80 mph in lots of places now. Not sure I can get 20 mpg out of a burb no matter the motor

It is nice to see a nice clean K5 that will stay that way. The nice ones are getting to be rare. At least up here.

FYI I slowed down to just the speed limit and my trucks mpg improved 2 mpg. Just throwing that out there.

We shall see when I get the turbo motor in the Jimmy. It will go 80 but I lose 2 mpg goes from 17 to 15. A 2wd lowered burb obviously gonna do better

When I was daily driving my 81 Jimmy 15 years ago I had a longish freeway commute to and from work. I was going broke trying to feed the beast...then tried the right lane at or slightly below the speed limit. I picked up between 2 and 3 mpg which was huge!! It was a big enough difference for me that from that point on I pretty much never drove that truck fast.
