I just bought a 90 GMC Jimmy fullsize 4x4 and am looking at replacing the old shocks.
I noticed there are 2 on each side up front.
Is this normal?
Or did someone add them on , aftermarket.
They use the same mount locations on the bottm but not the top.
The truck does not have a lift.

It's stock get rid of them and run RS9000's. If you do a search there is alot of people who have gotten rid of the dual set and run single.

That's what I did. Got a 5" lift and installed one Rancho 9000s at each corner. Runs a lot better. :D

I have a line on 6pro-comp 1000 for $145 shipped, or 4 for $100 shipped.
Should I just do the 4 shipped and get rid of the extra 2?
Thanx.
Im not going to lift it as I drive alot of hwy and tow a car dolly on the freeway.
Im running 33" and plan on just going with a 3" body and a rear wheel spacer to even out the tire width.

Well I bought a set of pro comp 3000 from 4wheel parts.
Killer deal..........
4 - s3000 shocks
1 - s2000 steering stab.
5 - black boots
= $135.00 shipped
Awsome deal!
So now my Q is should I order 2 more shocks for the frt or just install the normal set?
I drive street primarily and the truck in its current state drives lkike a boat.

Forget the two extras up front. Good shocks will handle the work load fine.

Don't see many performance vehicles running quad shocks in the front. :)

then of the 2 up frt which one should I delete?
the vertical one or the one that points back towards the rear of the vehicle?
Also would hurt anything to just leave the 1 old shock therfore having 1 new and 1 old on the 2 frt corners?
