i know this is not the right place for this post but i cant post in the suburban area for some reason. but i was wondering if anyone knew where i can find a long travel/pre runner kit for a 1990 chevy suburban 2wd. let me kno guys

1/2 ton? fabtech used to have a kit for the k5 which should work on the burban as well. i dont know if they are still in production though. but pretty much any kit for the 2wd 1/2 ton of that body style will work. 3/4 ton there really isnt anyhting out there long travel wise, but a custom fab shop can do wonders.

yea its a 1/2 ton, so like a k5 or c10 kit will work? or should i just get like a 3' lift?

There's a BIG difference between just a 3" lift kit and a true long travel suspension! a 3" 2wd kit will probably be lift splindles and a few other parts or longer coils and new upper arms, something along those lines but, a true long travel set up will be custom long arms, new coils, HD ball joints, new tierods (for proper steering setup with long arms), usually a wider than stock stance (due to longer arms), new spindles, the whole enchilada!

I just did some searching, it would seem to be an uncommon build! It'd be cool to see a nicely built prerunner sub! Good luck!

ok, so long travel is gonna be to hard to find/try. can anyone help me fine like a 3" suspension kit? its 1990 Chevy Surburban 1500 2wd

May I suggest just selling the burb, then buying a 4x4 instead? I understand building whatcha got... but cmon... 2wd burb? Sellll it!

but it goes from 88-98 mines 90

:doah: that there is a parts kit for the truck. the truck changed in 1987-'98, the burb changed in 1992-'98.

no, not selling it. iv had 7 cars and i love my burb, 2wd is fine im just gonna be on light sand, and hard dirt. what about this one?

I suggest you do a little googling of the body styles. short version: if it is the same body style, the parts will work.

the '69-72's had the same design in the front end, so that is an option too.

yea thats what i thought. will a lift kit for a 1990 1500 2wd truck work? i mean isint it the same mounting but just a longer frame?

again, a 1990 1500 truck is the newer body style. To my knowledge, the newer bodystyle, share very little similarities with ours. It will not work.

believe me. I wish I could find something too. I found a 86 3/4ton crew cab longbed for 1,000...would love to find a lift for the front.

It will work for your application. Call Fabtech up and talk to them about what you want. They may have somethinhg more along the lines of what you really want.
