1990 v2500 Canyonero

90 burb
Well, I like it. I mean, it's not a 1991 Chevy V1500 but it's okay. Lol

I do like the NV4500 part. It turns it into an entirely different rig even with the lethargic TBI 350.

You got all the parts yet?

I just have the pedals only. I have a nice 4500 in my blazer that I could donate to this but I’d need a half decent 4500 to go back in it without a fuss of changing stuff.

I do have wheels and the 14 bolt so far that’s all. 3FD2AA34-61BE-4793-82DA-5399FD7130B9.jpeg3C2EAECE-BAF1-4347-9EC6-F3A63D955780.jpeg

Ditch the abs, never find all the parts to bring it back.
Bummer on the body stuff, paint can cost as much as the engine conversion.
Really don't need the d60 up front for a state park camper, especially 3.55 and 285. Might consider saving the weight, and put the $ into another area

Still seems to a solid candidate

It’s definitely a solid truck no doubt about it. I just have work to do. The one tons are mostly for the better brakes and I’ll tackle the abs portion with a hydroboost swap.

what is the diameter of d60 8 lug Chevy rotor ? I'll go measure my d44 8 lug rotor. The hydro boost will be a huge improvement in braking just by itself.

Burb updates. The 14 bolt has 3.73 and a g80 so I’m pretty sure I’m just gonna keep that. A Detroit is a little too aggressive.

Tires arrived and they are 285/75r16 but 33.1” tall and outlined white letters so that’s kinda cool. Might run letters out on the white wheels. Might hate it who knows lol.
I’m also gonna build my own tire changer and mount em up hopefully next weekend. That may be a little too optimistic though.

Lastly I sent the seatbelts out to get serviced and new webbing installed. This company is safetyrestore.com and despite their sus ass website it was legit. About 100 bucks each and they are like new. Before they were all hairy and gritty up in there.

That’s cool, I had no idea anyone refurb’d seatbelts.

Tires - outlined white letters out! If my Boggers were offered with OWL they’d be out loud and proud. Many moons ago Interco offered the 16x38.5 TSL’s with OWL’s, they were cool. :pimp:

Spent the day cleaning and new shoes. This nasty axle really did clean up real nice with just a pressure wash and some quick paint.
Hopefully have it in the burb within the next few weeks. Take advantage of this weather.

Not really sure what to do about the diff cover but I don’t think I want the stock stamped one.

Those are so much easier to find for sure and much lighter. I just don’t want to deal with the collateral damage of that. I’m a big fan of the 13” drums AND this axle bolts in. The brake cables fit with no mods except maybe a driveshaft which I need anyways cause it vibrates.
Spoiler, this will be an extremely predictable build lmao. Nothing really out of the ordinary, just a known good recipe.

No it’s a bad one. The small line from the condenser is pulsating so that’s over my head. Gotta do some learning.

could be a restricted orifice tube it is in the line near the evaporator.

got pressure reading ?
