1991 2500 350TBI 4L80E, when it gets upto operating temps (210) it shuts off, sometimes it will start right back up, sometimes it will start then die again within seconds, and sometimes i have to let it cool off before it will start.

not getting any codes

to me it sounds like something is getting heat sinked, payday im going to replace the coil and see if it fixes it. theres no issue back and forth to work because it doesnt get warm enough.

any more details? Shuts off while driving/idling, any other running symptoms you can add? Is it consistent or just happened a couple of times?

Don't waste money guessing with parts. That will get expensive very, very quickly, and that money is better spent on diagnostic tools.

If you don't have spark, it's ignition related. If you have spark, something else is going on and you need to check fuel.

Does it sort of "idle down" and die, or is it like someone turns it off?

does it driving or sitting in park idling.

acts like you just turned the key off, doesnt idle down or sputter.

no other issues, only thing that happens in corelation to when it dies is the temp.

it has done it 4 or 5 times in the last couple weeks, and only when it heats upto 210

Check spark and fuel when it does it. Go for spark first, its easier.

This, get it warm and take off the air cleaner and see if the fuel injectors are spraying right, and what happens when it shuts down.
Since it has to do with heat, part of me thinks it is an electrical issue. Maybe needs a new ICM (Ign. Control Module)

I got my money on a ignition control module, but as others said, check for fuel and spark during an episode.

I forgot about the ICM, the first time it did it I had a spare new ICM laying around and threw that in

It will do that when the coil heats up and spreads
The windings. Let it cool off and it will run again. Why is the engine getting so hot. Sounds like the thermostat isn't opening fast enough or you have a Colling issue as well. Shouldn't go Above 200 unless you are pushing the engine hard. With a 195 stock thermostat mine stays around 180-190 on the Guage unless I'm towing. Even then it rarely gets above 200. Your spark issue could be icm or pickup or coil not sending a signal to fire. Burnt out cap and rotor could be as well. Check the coil from positive to negative. Usually around 150-300 ohms on most coils. Infinity or above and the windings are burnt.

it has fluctuated around that hot ever since i got it and last summer i put an all aluminum radiator in, new water pump, new hoses, new thermostat, windstar electric fans. now i havnt had either fan running this winter because its so damn cold they werent needed, with both fans running it runs about 150 degrees.

last night i let it idle and it got upto temp and never shut off, i borrowed an IR temp gun and was checking some temps, the thermostat housing was about 190, the side of the radiator where the coolant flows to the thermostat was about 175 or 150 (i dont remember), and the block next to the temp sensor was 220. at that time the guage was saying 210.

If you Have been plugging And unplugging things maybe could Have a bad connection somewhere. Electrical is always a pain to figure out. Especially the new stuff with 100 different connections and Sensors to go through. If its the coil it usually will do the same thing all the time. Heat up then die til its cool. I guess your Cooling is Doing what it's supposed to do And Have all the new parts. Something has to be heating up and shutting off the truck. Have you tryed a new icm again or are you going to Wait to see if it will stay running now?if the pickup coil is getting GoodSignal if the injectors are spraying. Have you checked that yet. If you Keep your cooling fans on and it stays under 200 does it still shut off or just if you let it heat up to 210?
