1991 v3500 - big dumb lifted forever truck

Did u consider custom ord or deaver/alcan springs? Im sure silly price

What are you doing for rear springs? If i recall those kits were 8”+4” block.

Yeah they don’t go that high allegedly and this is just a short impulse. I kept my 4” rears and just added the block to get here too easy really.

The 12s are in and boy are they 12s.
Went from skyjacker 8s with a zero rate to super lift 12s with their zero rate taken out. So like 9” to an 11” ish. Waiting for these to settle like the 8s did should do pretty good. I did not measure before and after like a dumdum.
Actually these springs went in with no issues and I think that’s because of my slightly longer shackles.
Hang the shackle end first and the spring just lined up with the main bolt hole. I was expecting a fight honestly. Maybe they aren’t the same as the ones from the past, but they definitely ride like the ones from the past. Like shit.

Can't remember... Are you running a 14b ff rear? And if so, I take it those caps barely clear?

It’s an 80 rear and the caps fit fine. Had them even when it was a 14 bolt. Not sure what you mean but I have had them on everything lol.

I was looking at my 14b and have been thinking about rims like those. But it looked like the axle flange was out so far that the cap wouldn't clear.
Thinking about it now it sounds stupid, because duh, they came from the factory like that on K30's :doah:
Those are US wheel?

Lol true, they fit like oem single wheel fine. These are US WHEEL in the 17x10 reverse mount and the old black ones are wheel vintiques 16x8.

Been wanting a wheel like that with the smooth moon style caps.
I know the moon style stand up off the rim with flat sides like the stockers, so SHOULD work :dunno: .
I might have to buy one and one cap just to verify the moon style clears too. Be an expensive experiment lol

Wanted that style a long time ago for my burb. Bought 20's in stead. Your truck has rekindled my want for steelies, and caps ..... Plus trim rings :D

Was just thinking about this truck and how nasty 44” boggers would be. It just seems like a 19.5” wide tire would really capture the exact look you are going for! You would also need ear plugs for tire hum at highway speeds.

What are next plans for this beast?
