1992 454 swap into a 86. (now changed to a 496)

Nice shafts! seems every thread I'm scrib'd to is doing dash panel work! Nice job on that too! wish I had the patiece for little things like that... prob gonna get a classic panel when its time...

Well that didnt work. Open headers and small garage = overpowered mic on the smart phone. But take my word for it, the roar was awesome!!

Workin exhaust today! Had to fix a lot of crappy work from when I paid to have it done.

One side done, now need to buy some steel to make a new crossmember so I can run rhe other side.

Made a template for the crossmember, gonna have two or three tubes across then put a skid plate across the whole bottom like a jeep.

Should have good protection and plenty of room for the exhaust.

Dont claim to be a pro, but it aint gonna fall apart.

So both supports a welded up, now gotta cut and drill the angle iron to bolt to the frame and weld the supports to that, then cross braces and last tranny mount bracket. Then paint it all up and make a skid plate to bolt to it and it will be done!!

So that means more to come......

Making good progress today.

That should be great for a normal person, bur I aint normal and I got 10' of tube left!!

IMAG1260_zps45638ce9.jpg

Lets add three cross braces just because.

Now just need to let it cool and pait it up. Will add the skid plate later.

Works perfect, got clerance for the exhaust now, better skid plate soon, plenty of room to drain the t-case. Now gotta readjust the mufflers install O2 sensor amd finish off the gage install.

Ha ha thanks, I never think of it as anything special, just have the right tools and a bit of imagination.

I know right, exactly why I dont like to let people work on my rig. Even the simplest thing it seems to be screwed up by lazy people, I mean how hard would it have been at the time to just make the hole a little bigger. Maybe another 20 seconds each side, I dont understand it.

In defense of the exhaust guy, the balance pipe really doesn't need to flow that much exhaust.

I guess your talking about the exhaust somehow? Never heard the term sneakers used for exhaust, so you got me stumped :D

I believe he is talking about the brightly colored thing in the lower right hand corner of this pic.

HA HA HA, I didnt even notice that!! Yep my 12yr old daughter had just got home from school and was sitting out in the shop telling me about her day. I always wear cowboy boots so didnt even think about any sneakers being in my pics.
