1A Auto Weatherstripping

I bought Exhaust manifolds from them in 2006 for my Blazer (Blackie) and they were perfect. The company was nice to deal with and they put stuff on evilbay too.

Check with GM as some of the seals are still available.

So Friday I decieded to take a little trip to my local Chevy dealer. I thought I would see what seals were still available for the cab and topper on my Blazer. Here is a report on my little field trip. The numbers and first price is OEM the last price is LMC Truck. I ordered mine and most will be here Monday the rest will be here Wednesday. Also got better pics of the tail gate and door parts.

Thanks for the info Metrodps.

Anyone else have experiences good or bad? I've read through several threads that say the LMC stuff fits poorly and quality is questionable Classic Truck sounds better. I've priced some stuff from SoffSeal, but there about 2X the price of the other suppliers.

Thinking about giving 1A Auto a shot, but would like to know if anyone else has used their weatherstripping. I figure there's only so many actual manufacturers out there, and the 1A Auto stuff is likely the same as either Classic Truck or LMC...

I have not used their products but I have used their youtube video demonstrations. Seem like a good company.

I'll be using 1A Auto weatherstripping on my K5...So far I have only bought the pieces for the shell, and i'll be putting them on in the next few weeks.

After install i'll do a small write up in my build thread.

Looking forward to this :thumb:

I bought LMC seals for the removable top. All the seals got replaced and they work but I'm not real impressed with the quality. I need weather stripping for the doors and tailgate so ill be watching for the 1aauto review

Yes PLEASE make sure you take pics and post up some good info on the A1 weatherstripping.

I can even close the windows all the way because the channel is ALL seal there is no slit its crammed in so tight!:angry1:

^^^^^ This is why I chose 1A auto ^^^^^

I have researched and read good reviews about their product and customer service. I'm hoping to have the new seals installed in 2 weeks. It will include pics and reviews.

I just ordered mine today so hopefully next weekend. Right now I am still going hand to hand combat with LMC on returning whats been installed. I tried to explain to them that some items you never know until you install them.

I bought and installed their door window seals last month. Service was great, order came in fast, as a CK5 vendor, the order had free shipping :waytogo: Plus the kit was cheaper than the LMC kit.

Happy with the way it turned out. I remembered a year or so ago I watch a youtube video a company made on installing the window seals. So after I got mine I re-searched for that video, turned out it was 1-A Autos video to begin with :D

It all fit great as far as I could tell. Only one part was a little off, driver's outer window felt didn't snug completely tightly on the end towards the door lock area, but I think that was because it had a small dent right there, and I also had to pull it back out once because I clipped that on before I did the inside track seal afterwards, so my mistake.

Mrshaefer per. uhm.... yeah thats hard to spell this early in the morning.

anyways, could you post up some pics of the out door seal? the one that runs left to right? or just post up some general pics of the seals installed.

I installed the window channel kit for my Suburban last month and I love them. I didn't have any problems with them, they fit great, good strong quality and I wouldn't hesitate to get the seals for the barn doors.

IMO, you can't go wrong with the A1 stuff.

Thanks Tony

Based on this alone, I'll be ordering weatherstripping from you guys. I appreciate everyone else throwing their $0.02 in as well. Good to know others' experiences before blindly placing an order... :waytogo:

Outside window seal? I only bought the window kits, not the door seals. Sorry for the crappy pics, night time. Woulda grabbed the keys and rolled the window down, but I'm lazy.

This next one is where I was talking about the dent, same place I had to pop it back out on that corner, to get the window window channel seal thing in, cause I did it backwards, shoulda put that on first, then the outside part. If both of those things weren't the case, I think that part would be nice and snug as well. I didn't care to fix it :D

Don't buy from LMC. I bought seal from them in the beginning of my build. Mine stays inside all the time. They are not even holding up after several years. The top seals are short in the front corners. Vent window seal fit like sh*t and air leak. Now I have been hunting down OEM seals to replace every one I can. Not sure what I'm going to get if I cann't find the last few in OEM.
