Yep, that's about it.

yeah, thats just like the one i had in my blazer when i first got it.

I installed one of thoes in my K5 years ago. I got mine from Brothers Trucks. About two years after install I had troubles with when I filled the tank max full the sending unit would leak gas out..probly the o-ring needed replacement...
I ended up getting a 37gal steel tank to replace it with.

The filler neck will need modifying, or a longer hose will be needed. the stock steel tank has a much longer steel 'neck' than this poly tank does...other than that seamed to work just fine...
Good Luck

i have a 3" body lift so it would have to be modded anyway..... the tank itself was ok quality?

Ya it looked identical to the steel one except for the shorter fill neck. Polyethelane will expand and retract with hot or cold days so I think, ouch, the expansion is what caused the o-ring at the sending unit to fail as the top of the tank looked to be bulging upward when it started leaking fuel out the top. Think of thoes little red gas cans made of plastic, set it in the sun and watch it bulge out :doah:
I live in the central valley here in Cali and we get 100+ temps all summer long, this year has been cooler but you get the idea of what i'm saying right?

So my overall impression of the Poly tanks...sounds like a rust free soulution but not too sure about how well they can hold true to their shape over long periods of time... I used the need for more fuel capacity to justify getting rid of the one I had otherwise I would have probly changed the O-ring and kept running it...
Hope this helps.

hahahahhaaa:haha: Enigne Sex is AWESOME :eek1: :D :haha:

Hell Ya! That is gonna be soooooo FUN! IT's a Drinker for sure:bow:

Well I put in the 37gal tank only cuz I use to drive my K5 to the trailheads and camping trips and some dayly driving....then I got my diesel dayly driver and then the trailer and then the camper so...hahhaa 37 gal may be over kill for me now but at least I can fill up once for a trip and not have to worry about how much my 454 is drinking.

One thing about the poly no rust so no falkes inside the tank..then again a new steel tank would take years to form rust flakes..I would assume anyway:rolleyes:

I like how VT's fuel cell and skid turned out
