2 post lift. Install finally starting

I'm kind of an anti farce book kinda guy. Lol.
Didn't see any in there anyway.

All CL has is a bunch of Chinese new ones.

how could you not see any in there? that is literally all that is shown
as far as being anti farce book, I thought I had seen you post stuff off there before

Never. Have never done much on there but look at stuff my wife shows me.
Never made an account before.

I didn't see the 2 posts. And 4 posts are useless in my book.

Just clicked the link again, and yeah, there's no 2 posts that I found.
Scrolled a ways down and none anyway.
This is what it looks like for the first group

I went a lot farther down and found some. Including a 10k rotary for $5k.
It's 5.5 hrs away though. That kinda sucks.

wow! strange; this is what it shows for me, but I have a buddy and we look for same stuff and get different results between us. on the other hand, maybe you should look into the lift chair :D oh well, just trying to be helpful

:haha:
After my last hernia I decided to buy one of those lol.
We bought an electric reclining love seat first, and we were just talking about looking for the lift chair the other day.
Can hardly get out of the manual recliner now because of diverticulitis issues.
Fork I'm getting old :doah:

Well. I got antsy, impatient, bored, ... whichever.
So I just bought this one.
Guess I'll find out whether I should have waited or not :dunno:. Done now lol.

From this thread I pretty much learned,
Bendpak bad,
Rotary awesome,
So if we buy a place that has a decent shop, or I build one at the next house, I'll probably try and get a rotary.
For now I guess I'll be the guinea pig for Advantage lifts and be able to tell you guys if they're worth a chit or not.:waytogo:

Thank you.

I am waiting for a few things to fall into place so I can get the 2 car Advantage as well. I am really interested to hear how it turns out for you.

Finally unpacking this thing and getting it ready.

Shop was a disaster (more than normal:whistle::doah:)
So I never even took the plastic off.

Decided it's time to get at it, and get this thing up.

First step was unpack it so I could get at the foot plates. Then I decided on and marked out a centerline for it.
I made a cardboard template of the foot plate and lined it up on one side. Then painted around it.
Measured to the other side and painted that one too.
Now when I stand them up I'll get them lined up exactly with the paint lines and get the top cross bar in. Then I can drill the holes for anchors.

It's up.
Combination of the gantry and cherry picker made short work of it.
3/4" wedge anchors coated in anchor epoxy and epoxy in the holes.
All leveled up and tightened down.
Pic doesn't show it but the cables are run and adjusted, hydraulic hose is ran and connected, and the safety latch release cable is all done.

Gotta wire it, put the arms on, and fill the reservoir.
I'm going to wait a few more days before fore I try and put anything on it though. Make damn sure the epoxy is all cured.

I'm also going to move the pump unit to this side to make more room in the center walk way.
After it's moved it'll only stick out about half as far as the box above it.

Once I've lifted a few vehicles and make sure it's not going to crash and smash a bunch of nuns, I'll box in where I had to cut the ceiling and re-insulate it..

This lift says it needs 10 awg wire to feed it, and a 30 amp breaker.
But it has a 6-8' cord coming off the motor that's 14 awg...:screwy:

Mine didn't have any cord. Have a 50' 6awg going to 50amp plug, no issues

I just picked up the 10/2.

$98 on sale :yikes:

It WAS $130...
That chit sure went up.

Idk what mine cost my brother bought it, and he wouldn't say.
His car was 1st on the new hoist, and got a 2 axle Power Stop brake job, on me. I think we're close on cost

I ran 8-2 for mine and split it to a 50 amp welder outlet. On the lift. I will never run the lift and the welder at the same time. Also ran a 12-2 feed with a 2 gang box mounted on the lift. I hate drop cords lying around.

Good thing the trusses don't run the opposite way! Will you just do some framing and make a drywall box up there?

I'm just going to box it in with osb. Then cover the outside with 1.5" pink board and the inside with 3/4" foil faced.

Then screw this light up into the corner so it reflects light around in there.
