I was pulling my transmission (TH350) to replace a flexplate. I noticed that the area around and including the bottom two bolt ears on the transmission had cracked and broken off. Can that be welded back in or am I looking at a new case?

Second, I can't get the flexplate bolts out, I even tried my impact. I soaked them in penetrant oil. Any ideas there?

Flexplate bolts are bags of fun....I got a nice long breaker bar with a 6 point socket and had at it with mine.
