I just sprayed my k30 with Omni 2 stage paint...
Omni is distributed by PPG...made by the Mexicans...
so..it's about 1/3 the price of PPG.
For the color (Black), clear, hardeners and reducers... (in Gal.)
I spent about $235.00.
So this product line is pretty affordable.
PPG would cost $140 for just the color!!!
Before paint...I preped the the metal with PPG DPLF 90...then sprayed a filler primer k36.
Then after a day of dry time...I sanded the surface with #220 DA.
After the truck cab was sanded inside and out...I cleaned with alcohol and thinner (for Bare metal).
Then blew the dust...for about 2 hours..until no dust could be seen.
I let the dust settle...and started fresh the next day...by tacking-off the surface.
Now....it's finally time to spray...
First...since I DAed the surface with #220...and I have bare metal..
I aplied 2 coats of reduced DPLF 90 for a black sealer..and let it flash for an hour.
After sanding the dirt nubs..lightly..it's time for color!!!
I sprayed 2 coats of color...let that flash for an hour..
then went on to the clear...and sprayed 3 coats.
I purchased 2 different hardeners..fast and slow...
The first couple coats I used 75% fast and 25% slow hardener..
Then I went to a 25% fast and 75% slow hardener for the last coat..for more flow..to help with overspray.
Well....here's what it looked like after 2:00AM last sunday morning...
I turned off the lights around 3:00AM.
Now...it's time to rub...and assemble.
