2 wheel drive - lift or lower?

[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
Since it's a shortbed...go 4/6 and lower that thing.

If it was a longbed I'd say lift the front to level it.

BTDT on the big trucks. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

TIM WTF HAS HAPPENED TO YOU?!?!?! /forums/images/graemlins/screwy.gif

i agree though, 4/6 and maybe a set of 17s.

I'd go with a prerunner style combo with it being a 2wd. Lowered trucks are completely useless. If they are slammed down almost to the ground they can't tow a trailer or haul anything heavy in the bed. My favorite is when they get stuck on a speed bump. /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif

You obviously don't know much. Why do you think airbags are mainstream in the lowered vehicle community?
A prerunner I'm sure would have great towing capacity /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

I say stock hieght or a lower it a bit up front and put a limited slip in the rear. Then all you need is a heavy foot /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif

Later

If it's 4wd lift it, if it's 2wd lower it. That is the unwritten law.

It seems Tim is having some issues using the quote feature today. /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif

asking what would be cooler is a personal question.
If it was my truck I'd lower it, if you want a 4x4 sell it and buy a 4x4. Lifting 2wds is gay imo.

(with sarcasim) Quit holding back, tell me how you really think. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif This truck is just a toy, I am just looking for ideas on what to do with it. I'm starting to lean more towards lowering it, but that makes oil changes more difficult /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

This is about what I had in mind if I lowered it. 17's would be cool, maybe 20's but they may look too "big" even with rubberband tires. There is a guy in a town near me that has 88 to 98 bodystyle truck with air and can slam the frame on the ground. He has the bags with dual 1" ports, it goes up real quick but not quite quick enough to hop. It does look cool sitting at the parking lot at his work sitting on the frame. It looks like a repo man's nightmare /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif

I've actually had this happen before, more than once. I would get stuck on speedbumps and just about any surface that wasn't very flat. The hump in the center of some roads chewed my crossmembers up pretty good too. After the second time being stuck I started carrying a jack and an assortment of 2x4's with me. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

We actually huad tha happen at the impound yard where I work. Some kid with a S-10 p/u on bags kept parking where he wasn't supposed to. I guess He figured that it couldn't be towed while it was sitting on the frame. He was wrong /forums/images/graemlins/shame.gif . The boss called a mechanic buddy of his that can do pretty much anything to come and assist. So he picked the lock on the hard tonneau and jumpered the compressors to raise it up /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif . We got it back to the yard and then dropped it right back down o the frame. Damn he was pissed. That and he had to pay over $1000 in parking tickets to the university just to be allowed to get it out of our impound, where we charged him several hundred dollars for all the extra work we had to do! We had to bring in an "expert"!
