2 wheel peel / rebirth of a short bed c-10

It is how I have to talk to understand all the whipper snappers I go to school with. You have to keep up or you miss out. I promise I am old enough that I think it is silly, but my spelling sucks and that I can spell.

Lookin good Brett, did I miss it or have you fired it up yet?

didnt feel like letting box sit outside anymore and rust the new sections . also sitting on the tires was going to fold the bottoms in as thay were beat up a little from trip from down south.

so to save rework and time here it sit's 1 step closer.

at least the repair panel is THICK and not the typical thin crap i have seen before. :D

sticker on back show's 1.20 mm thickness . or 18 gauge steel.

Is it magnetic? :haha:

(ooooold Lounge things about toolboxes, if you don't remember...)

Great work on the panels brett. I think it should come out real nice and be rust free for a while! You gonna blast and bed line the under side of it?

ya thay worked good.

also got my right front brake hose today finaly . got ahold of napa rep in area for brakes. then he got me to the supply company rep. talked and emailed pics to them and the guy happen to be a old gm company man from back in the day and knew just what problem i had.

we got it all pined down to 1 simple mistake . . . . . WRONG PIC POSTED ON NAPA SITE :doah:

hose i was ordering was all correct but reason it looked wrong was pic loaded on there site was wrong hose. so it all boiled down to ordering the other option and it was good to go. now to get napa to update there pic's and also credit my local guy back the money for the extra hoses he dont need and get shipping cost back for the 1 we got out of area and had ups'ed in to us.

all this cause i am a nice guy and dont want the next por sole / guy to go threw the same problems. :thumb:

also got the hard lines finished for the front brakes. and the rear hose bracket bolted in to the driverside frame rail now and NOT the orignal pass side location. will make for a shorter hardline run and cleaner look .

then playing around i found even the 1" longer shackles i put in the back from kirt @ www.diy4x.com hit the short bed next to last crossmember for the bed. going to half to notch that for clearence as it sits now it pics the box off the frame about 3/4" or so. :doah::doah::doah:

simple lowing job turned in to a huge project.

thanks :thumb:

and nope its real clean under there a LOT better than the old bed was. almost eat off it. but when done it will get a coat of chassie undercoat rust sheild like the old rusty jon's or zebart stuff.

and did a little more today on the bed . used the pin welder and slide hammer and prybar to pop 90% of the 2 dents out just under the tail lights from someone wacking the bumper when thay pulled the box off the old truck it was on. gave it a skim coat of all metal and should be able to sand it tomarow .

as requested keyparts is the panel brand. made in taiwan tho. but as i said 18 gauge and fit good .

also today got 80% of the pass side box side all down to bare metal as the old paint was SHOT from down south living first 1/2 of its life.

80 grit makes fast work of it on the d.a. sander.

going to def use the toyota super white and speedway blue from 2011 years on truck. we just did a vehicle in the super white. and its bright

then took color chip book and matched the color to a 01 dodge we had in shop close to same. but the toyota blue has more metal flake in it over the dodge .

i got white primer / sealer and white for whole truck. then will tape off for the 2 tone blue . should realy POP when don here soon i hope. and i am doing base/clear on it.

That should look pretty nice when you're done. Looking forward to seeing pics of it. You may have to change your name to "SweetC10" soon.

Whatever happened to that green crew cab that you had done all that work to and gotten all those parts for?

i have 3 k30's so no name change.

and still got it. just need to stop my A.D.D problem and finish it. :doah:

actualy just picked up 4 doors for it month ago and also few weeks ago a warn 8274 winch for the front.

Well you need to get back on it as soon as you finish your DD project. I was wondering if you sold it or it got stolen or what. Everybody wants to see a cool crewcab nowdays. :pimp:

i am whipped

way to much sanding.

you southern truck guys get the paint BAKED ON from the heat/sun bad. all 80 grit used to remove down to base black coating or metal. it was that bad.
