2 wheel peel / rebirth of a short bed c-10

not sure if I get in trouble for the part in the pic . so I just pulled it for safe thing to do .

and fyi its about 2 times bigger than a 205 tcase .

and no I am still stock axle bearings . good factory shafts . 10 bolt yoke swap so no trick joint.

Well these Cclip eliminatord are basically the same design as the pocket ends in the super88 kit I put in my ford 8.8 for the trooper. They work with stock shafts and after market stock replacements (obviously). Theyre double sealed with taper bearings so technically they are a factor 9in bearing and seal set up and shouldnt leak.

And they are only a $160. Just food for thought :D I decided to skip bling shafts too.

also made the truck look a lot better.

installed the gas doors with the rubber bumpers / and filler neck adaptors .

still got to paint the filler necks them self's and also install them with the hoses .

thanks for all the positive coments guys . its a big part of what keeps these builds going .

and ya little planning on the custom hitch / modify the plate holder / use old car plate flipper and you get full hiddin hitch setup 100% :thumb:

got my 4wd non tow hook hole air dam for the truck today .

2wd is 4 " tall
4wd is 5.5" tall

now as it sits less the main parts of the truck on it for full weight its about 10" ground clearance at the bottom of the air dam

last pics show wiper cowl painted / grill filler panel / gas doors / steering shaft dash cover / scuffed underside of the hood.

and here is the hood underside painted / cab holes to get 2 body bolts nuts from spinning and the right front core support mount had to be shimmed 3/8" of a inch to level it out with the frame / ground / and all parts in relation to its self . I had a few HUGE dia. washers on hand to get this done.

Curious about these holes, is this the rear mounts? I have one that is spinning and would like to hear more. Would it be possible to get me some measurements to do the same? What do you think about putting in a regular nut?

ya its just a 2" hole saw and find the spot the mount bolt is on the under side and cut the top .

I can get you some specs and post up back in that post . will send you update when I do .

and the nut is a HUGE square nut and captured . so no need to change it . just stuff a big prybar or flat screw driver in there and have a buddy hold it . then do what ya need on the bolt . or some guys weld the nut to the body clip that holds it.

Someone stripped mine, I tried a thread chaser and it ate it up. I had the same idea using a 2 inch hole saw, was going to cover it with a rubber plug.

Thanks.

Looking great brett. Excited to see the hitch all finished up. Great idea.

got to have the hitch .

just don't need everyone else to know I have it :D

go more small parts painted black.

hood hinges and springs / hood safty latch and main latch .

also got license plate flipper done and assembled with the limit bumper so it sits flat when down and not on the electric plug cover sideways .

fuel filler necks done.

Painted the door handles? I'd think that'd wear off, chip, etc in a big damn hurry... :dunno:

the chrome was pealing bad already . I didn't have a extra set in good shape.

so for now I stuck them in the blast cabinet with a fresh bag of black beauty blasting media ( real h/d stuff abrasive ) and striped them down to just about the copper layer . real gritty after and ready to grab some paint good . http://www.blackbeautyabrasives.com/products/black-beauty-original-abrasives.php

its only 2 bolts to change them out later if I don't like them .

this industrial catalyzed paint is good and durable when fully cured . so will give it a try .

I got to reassemble them next few days and the button will still be black . and there staying in the blue body line area . the act body line will be the start down for the white of the 2 tone. and then there will be the stainless / chrome door key locks in the white zone .

Gotcha...I figured you had your reasons. :waytogo:

I'm sure it'll be fine, but I predict new handles in chrome down the road. :D

if need be I get them powder coated in blue or black even . I am tired of chrome handles our only option on these trucks .

speeking of that I cant wait to get these blasted and powder coated in bright white . with 4 new tires and bright solid white letters . . burnout
