$200 14 Bolt Axles... Where are they?

AAAAALLLLLRIGHTY THEN!

I guess I need to get better at the shoppin'

Thanks for all the info.
I get on craigslist for the portland , oregon area everyday and I'm always seeing good deal's on there . Look in the auto part's section . Hell I have even seen some complete older chevy 3/4 ton 4x4 truck's for $500 . good luck :D

just roll on out to your local junkyard. here they let em go for 100 bucks an axle, 14b, d44, d60, though i have yet to see a gm d60 there. 14b's are plentiful, at least here in co. 72sac and i have both pulled matching axles for our k's. and if you get lucky you can find one with stock 4.56's. buy yourself some diy4x parts and you're ready to go!:D

I once paid 250.00 for a 14ff,BUT it had just been rebuilt completely, with gearing I needed, all new seals, and brakes.
It was an interesting trip, we had to go to Houston to pick it up. Lucky thing was that a buddy of mine had sold a motorcycle on Ebay, to a guy in Houston, and had to find a way to get it there. I told him I would deliver it for him for 100.00. The guy with the axle lived 2 exits from the guy who bought the motorcycle.

The going rate around here is $100-$150 for a 14-bolt. I bought a good condition one with new brakes for $100 a couple years ago for my truck, and the guy in that same yard had a couple others laying around for the same price.

I avoid the wrecking yards around here because they think all their $hit is gold . I would rather hit the thrifty ad's or craiglist and get a deal . I will hit the u-pull-it yard for little things but even they want $250 for a rear axle . I'm looking for a cheap 14 bolt for my jeep/crawler project .

on www.craigslist.org theres a 99 dollar corporate 14 bolt FF(in san jose)out of a 70s something truck

i only point this out as i dont have anything to go pick it up.

eventually ill put one in my DD 91 blazer but not now.

(on edit)here it is: http://www.craigslist.org/sby/pts/141550294.html

That guy sells every 14 bolt, and almost every axle for that matter, for 100 bucks. Hes the cheapest ive seen, everyone else thinks they are gold and wants like 2, 3 ive even seen 500 for one.

well you know what? ship one to me because even with shipping it would still be cheaper then buying one around here... The local junk yard everyone is talking about here wants $500 for one, because in mississippi everyone still drives their old crap around and won't throw anything away!!

$200 bucks! Where are these over priced units at?:D

I got mine for $100.:wink1:

They are everywhere at the junkyards here in Phoenix, i think though, the ones costing LESS than $200 are at the pull it yourself yards. If they have to do the work, then you obviously pay more.

and i paid $100 for my 14bff and $150 for the 3/4 ton 10bolt

but i had to do the work to.

Did only the 1 tons (K30) have 4.56 available, or could you get a K20 with 4.56 also. Most K20's I've seen have 3.73 or 4.10

The junkyards in the Eugene/Springfield area aren't that bad. I had some good experiences when I lived around there. Up here, I picked up my 14-bolt with 4.10's and a open carrier, a 2WD steering box, a set of 56" springs, and a set of 4 Kelly E-rated tires at %60 on decent 16" rims....all for $100. I just kept my eye out for the right deal. You can't just jump on the first thing you see, you gotta wait for the good deals.
