2000 Astro, 4.3L shakes and surges at idle while in gear...

I had an S10 Blazer come through my shop once that was behaving similarly. There were no codes, shook in gear but took off alright. It held it's gears though, which I felt was weird.

Problem was a failed MAF sensor. It was reading, but not the correct volume. Cleaning didn't help, but a new sensor had the truck behaving just like brand new again. I changed all the plugs, wires, coil pack, cap & rotor anyways though, they were factory originals with quite a few more miles than they should have gone :haha:

Mine's not showing any codes either... check engine light is off, and it passed emissions a few weeks ago with flying colors. What's the procedure for testing the MAF?

A quick update...

A friend is getting his fuel pump swapped by a mechanic friend of his who's hurting for money right now. Said $100 for the labor if he supplies the part. I asked about getting the same deal. The guy agreed if I get my van to my friend's house on the same day where he can do both side-by-side.

$100 labor isn't bad at all for a fuel pump swap.

:saweet:

I'll try to get the rest of the tune up stuff done this next weekend.
